But let’s put up more flashy billboards next to the road for you to read while you drive!

I swear, billboards should be illegal. Both for the distraction they are, and the utter eyesore. Hopefully mainly a US thing. That and traffic signs that have a whole paragraph that you’ll never be able to read safely

Especially the LED backlight ones. Those are so bright they blind you, then switch brightness rapidly.

Fuck a pledge, it's the law! We have statue that makes driving while phoning illegal...what we would need is actual enforcement!

I think this is fine. If you get hit and killed by a distracted driver it may not be your fault but you’re still dead.

Honestly, yeah. Navigating around drivers my general attitude is "I'm not willing to put my life in a stranger's hands"

My mom always told me when I was a kid to make eye contact with the driver before crossing the street. I’m always surprised when a pedestrian gives me so much trust.
