A surprisingly good film that is well paced.

It's The Odyssey in Space!

Sorry, don't mean to criticise, but it's well known that's the story line.

It IS an important movie for being one of the first well-produced science fiction/fantasy movies. I'll let it play as background occasionally.

Thank you for reporting but, I just downloaded/checked mp4, here is a screenshot of this movie title, https://i.imgur.com/zacKSUa.jpeg And your title is not listed on https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0049223/releaseinfo/ Also, no such title on Wikipedia - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forbidden_Planet I think you might of confused this movie with "2001: Space Odyssey (1968)".

I think they meant that it’s the storyline of Homer’s The Odyssey, but it takes place in space. I just looked into it, and I saw on Wikipedia that the characters and plot have been compared to Shakespeare’s The Tempest, “leading many to consider it a loose adaptation.”

In any case, thanks for posting this! I’ll have to add it to my watch list!

Ah, yea, The Tempest is a better match! (My memory jumbled it all up, thanks for the correction).

Oh I see now, thank you.
