Maybe.

I'd doubt it.

The US, historically, isn't particularly good at holding people accountable. I would like to think that we'll go full post-WWII France and prosecute (and hang) tens of thousands of these bastards, but more likely we'll get a conciliatory Obama type who says some dumb shit like: "We need to move on as a country," and moving on means letting the American Nazis go, just like how no one involved in engineering the illegal invasion of Iraq and the fake WMD's ever got meaningfully held accountable. (And one was awarded a Medal of Freedom.)

Republicans: Yeah, sure. But the idea is to make that happen when we're dead. If it happens.

And we have to make it happen sooner. Every little bit counts. Every person who dares to stand up publicly and say these words. Spread the truth.

But sooner than they’d like

I can support that concept.

I've seen a few videos lately where a committee is dressing down those responsible. Are lawmakers just now starting to put pressure on or is it just tHe AlGoriThM

No algorithm in the fediverse! (Very basic “algorithms” at most)

[–] BananaIsABerry@lemmy.zip 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

The Algorithm™ on lemmy is posters reposting things they've seen elsewhere that was provided by that platform's algorithm.

All the things I repost from other sources are scraped using ethical practices, organically hand picked, and packaged for archival and public discussion on the Fediverse.

The only traces of an algorithm that might linger, is that I sort from date posted. And then I try to verify the place and date of the recording happened. I post the source for transparency.

If you don't like that, I'm open to suggestion, or just block me.

Hell yeah, not a problem for me. Thank you for providing content!

[–] FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world 8 points 2 days ago

It's really just legislators getting content in for their socials.

It's the Mamdanis and Platners and Khannas of the world who have the balls to do something real, and they are far too few and no way in hell any of them ever sniff the presidency.

I think these are the first hearings where they could say these things directly in many months. Remember that the fascist party controls congress and doesn't want these hearings to happen.

It's been pretty weak until recently but they were going very hard in the past few days

There's been a couple who have been consistently hounding them for a while though

Really Delia? How many people went to jail for Kent State and UNM in 1970?

This isn't four heat of the moment deaths. This is farming people in a way we haven't seen at this scale for a long time.
