Step 1: Make an anti-AI post on Lemmy.
Step 2: Profit.
Comic Strips
Comic Strips is a community for those who love comic stories.
The rules are simple:
- The post can be a single image, an image gallery, or a link to a specific comic hosted on another site (the author's website, for instance).
- The comic must be a complete story.
- If it is an external link, it must be to a specific story, not to the root of the site.
- You may post comics from others or your own.
- If you are posting a comic of your own, a maximum of one per week is allowed (I know, your comics are great, but this rule helps avoid spam).
- The comic can be in any language, but if it's not in English, OP must include an English translation in the post's 'body' field (note: you don't need to select a specific language when posting a comic).
- Politeness.
- AI-generated comics aren't allowed.
- Adult content is not allowed. This community aims to be fun for people of all ages.

If only you could profit from it
Those up arrows are worth more than gold
Once I made an elaborate anti-AI post that looks like pro-AI one if you fail to read it; got heavily downvoted, ignored and banned. That was worth more than any amount of up arrows. Pure bliss.
You expected people to read? On the internet?
Yeah, that's a mistake.
2 paragraph comment?! TL;DR?
Made a comment saying a meme is probably AI slop. Got heavily downvoted because it was a 'known' meme template, even had some guys calling me a 'whiteknight' and 'AI paranoid'. Edited the post and told people to look at the woman's face in the meme, it was all deformed. Downvotes became upvotes, upvotes became downvotes, felt better than sex.
Link or didn't happen
You give me a great idea! I will create a lemmy instance with ai-powered upvotes running in a blockchain so that people can profit from it /s
If you could profit from it, Lemmy would be a hell hole in an instant. I'm happy that "karma" doesn't even really matter here at all.
Hate ai companies, not the technology. openai, midjourney, et all, should all be sued into the ground for the massive scale theft of intellectual property and other harm they've done to artists and other creatives.
however
there are actual good use cases for this technology. Personally, I'm fond of using it to turn my drunken ramblings into coherent notes for later works. This would be totally fine to do, if the ai's that were any good were made ethically and responsibly.
MUTEO!
The no ai club with just 3 people is so real, unfortunately...
I live this series. Is there anywhere a collection where I can see them all?
The artist David Revoy has a home page with all of them: https://www.peppercarrot.com/en/webcomics/miniFantasyTheater.html
You can also find Pepper & Carrot there, a comic with a larger format and longer episodes.
He uses only open source software and also publishes the Krita source files for every comic.
Here’s the artists Mastadon where he posts them. Not sure if he’s got a website with them all or not.
AI = bird brain?
Avian Intelligence XD
Wholesome ❤️
I really enjoy this art style. Thanks for sharing these!
If only it were “super easy” when it’s being shoved down our throat by pretty much every company on the planet…
Microwaves were the future of cooking. Look at how that turned out.
I think a lot of people in the west are kind of sleeping on the capabilities of microwaves. They’re fantastic.
That’s not an endorsement of AI.
The science was sound and built on a reliable use of electricity for output that people tried to get clever with but eventually settled into a more casual relationship with instead of expecting anything amazing from?
I mean honestly yeah probably will end up similar to microwaves where local running versions that people operating it are ok with lower quality will use, use it and its considered gross for professional setups.
Good comparison.
Literally everyone has a microwave though
Lots of professional kitchens use Chef Mike.
