This is true. However, Yandex is still essential to understanding the Russian perspective, as it's used by a solid 60-70 percent of the Russian population.

Is there a way to change that menu option in firefox where you highlight something and right click to 'Search Google for XXX' to search Yandex?
In settings under the Search tab there's a hyperlink under Search Shortcuts for "Find more search engines" once you add Yandex it'll pop up in the list.

Yandex isn't ususlly gonna have better results. The overwhelming majority of English language stuff is written from a ruling class perspective. That's not gonna change because you use a non-western search engine, although the ranking algorithm might be less sus. But Yandex is definitely way less useful for most Wnglish language stuff. I do try to use it sometimes.
what i meant is that there is some blatant censorship on Google search. Anything related to Russia-Ukraine war for example returns western propaganda outlets. Yandex is more balanced.

It's completely insane. I tried searching "Genocidin Biden" like 4 days ago and only got some White House BS about how Genocide Joe is like... well, totally against genocide.
Now at least our this great term has been picked up by the bigger meme sites and they can't hide it anymore.

yea yandex shows torrent sites which google censors. search "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse torrent" and you will see basically no results because of dmca removals. Search on yandex and youll see results from rutracker, rutor etc

Weird furry drawings don't pop up on Google. Google is shit with anything femdom as well. Also, trans porn is infinitely better on Yandex, Google definitely censors trans porn results.
Why do you people always go straight to accusing victims of sexual abuse of being pedos, it's fucking gross and there's no reason for it. There is an entire world of sexual deviancy that has nothing to do with children. I want to look at pictures of fat Pomni, Yandex gives far better results for a search like that.

I generally get worse results for english text search.
Their translate + reverse image search + image search are all MUCH better though.
