Welcome to the News community!

Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

[–] ieatpwns@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago

He’s the speech to text robot for the cabal

[–] thefluffiest@feddit.nl 58 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Wild? More like awkward as hell

[–] Whostosay@sh.itjust.works 12 points 1 month ago

It was wild because they didn't all meet on an island for a dinner.

[–] FatVegan@leminal.space 4 points 1 month ago

It looks so fucking awkward. Like a black hole of charisma. Elon keeps asking when the wild party starts, and no one dares to tell him that it started 3 hours ago

[–] LemmyKnowsBest@lemmy.world 22 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Wow. The things we're allowed to say here that would get us permabanned from Reddit 🙀

[–] _Nico198X_@europe.pub 14 points 1 month ago (2 children)

thank goodness we still have this freedom

[–] LemmyKnowsBest@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago (2 children)

I've said far less awful things on Lemmy that have been deleted by moderators 🤔🤷🏼‍♀️

[–] _Nico198X_@europe.pub 9 points 1 month ago (1 children)

it will vary based on the mods, but there's no central authority

[–] Magnum 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Half of that is true for reddit too

[–] EmpathicVagrant@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

Yeah, the half where it depends on the mood of mods as to whether they’ll delete ban or ignore it

[–] innermachine@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago

Yea instead of reddit rules it's moderators whims. I've only run into one or 2 Lemmy communities this way though and just leave them when I notice I don't like how the moderators operate 🤷 freedom for posters and freedom for moderators im all for it

[–] EmpathicVagrant@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

For now. A large part of the push for the shitty new tech in everything is to track watch and keep surveillance on every one of us. If you don’t think it follows keystrokes to know what we say on our little anon platform you haven’t paid attention to predictive text evolving.

It heavily depends on your instance, fwiw. .world tends to lean closer to Reddit in terms of moderation. And then .ml leans the other direction, and heavily moderates in favor of communism.

I still don't follow how an international paedophile ring can be run openly on gmail and yahoo by a guy who didn't know where the shift key is, or how any punctuation worked.

[–] Ajen@sh.itjust.works 35 points 1 month ago (1 children)

The same way Epstein was able to get a plea deal that gave him immunity to federal charges back in 2006. Everyone involved is extremely well-connected.

[–] kutt@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Didn’t he get it by snitching on some obscure corruption/money laundering story?

[–] Dicska@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago

BUT they want you to provide a photo ID, provide access to your location 24/7, and let them read your thoughts because they want to keep homeland security tight.

But a wide open pedo ring mail chain somehow eludes them.

[–] psycho_driver@lemmy.world 47 points 1 month ago (1 children)

That room must have been a total black hole of charisma.

[–] saimen@feddit.org 20 points 1 month ago

It does look like the stereotypical meeting of evil persons in movies.

[–] SocialMediaRefugee@lemmy.world 38 points 1 month ago (2 children)

How can you be sure Zuckerberg was actually there and not just one of his robotic simulacrums?

[–] BranBucket@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I would guess they made him cut the palm of his hand to see if he bleeds. It's too bad they didn't know that's not enough proof...

[–] psycho_driver@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

Resistance is futile.

[–] Cyv_@lemmy.blahaj.zone 35 points 1 month ago (1 children)

The lighting in that room is awful. So are the people, but yeah...

[–] greenbit@lemmy.zip 6 points 1 month ago

Kubrick wasn't there to do the lighting as well as in his last documentary

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 29 points 1 month ago

"Wrong day Elon, the wild party was yesterday."

[–] LemmyKnowsBest@lemmy.world 22 points 1 month ago (1 children)

They all look a bit tense and uptight.

Not really "wild" though.

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Elon read the email wrong and got the wrong day.

[–] Rcklsabndn@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 month ago

He showed up for the Uptight and Awkward Pedo-Supper.

[–] zensanto@ttrpg.network 19 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

We need to reclaim the wealth that has been stolen so our families don't end up serving their families in perpetuity.

Their children should have to live like regular kids.

[–] DrDickHandler@lemmy.world -4 points 1 month ago

Cute, but not happening.

[–] Furbag@lemmy.world 15 points 1 month ago

The key revelation here is that this was after his conviction. They knew what this dude was about and still showed up to a dinner party.

Musk and Zuck wanted to fuck kids.

[–] SocialMediaRefugee@lemmy.world 14 points 1 month ago

It was a tech bro douche fest.

[–] Zahille7@lemmy.world 10 points 1 month ago (1 children)

The guy next to Musk looks familiar.

[–] Zahille7@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I don't know, but I feel like I've seen his face in some articles or something.

[–] Hadriscus@jlai.lu 4 points 1 month ago

"prosecute those who commited heinous crimes with Epstein"

says the guy who did 2 "Heil Hitlers" televised in front of the entire US of A

[–] Avicenna@programming.dev 3 points 1 month ago

ima assume that Donald Duck slapped this photo on Elon's face when he started tweeting about releasing Epstein files. He probably also slapped this on Zuckerberg and Thiel's faces on other occasions too.
