Love the Streisand effect. I had no idea there was footage of this cabbage patch chimp getting booed at the Olympics until they blocked it πŸ˜†

In Canada we don't censor that sort of stuff so watching the CBC stream was funny. All applause then the couch pest showed up and the entire stadium mood changed. Americans truly don't realize they are jokes outside of their country.

Like Israel at Eurovision. They had all the anti-booing on the streams, but some of it was still slipping through and Graham was like "I don't know what you can all hear at home, but this definitely an energetic reception" πŸ˜†

Stop using Musk's products.

[–] MousePotatoDoesStuff@lemmy.world 51 points 6 days ago (2 children)

Post it on Mastodon and here instead.

The REAL free speech platforms.

[–] Melvin_Ferd@lemmy.world 9 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Is that enough? Isn't there only like 11 million on mastadon?

[–] MousePotatoDoesStuff@lemmy.world 6 points 6 days ago (1 children)

You can also copy the Mastodon/Lemmy link to Twitter and Bluesky, I guess.

I'm with you, I just think on top of those we also need to focus on where people are. Facebook does the heavy lifting now. They show you the most popular right wing groups now. It's easy to post to them

Only free as long as you cheer for me he right color. Otherwise it's the same shit with different mental gymnastics .

[–] eleison@lemmy.world 14 points 6 days ago

Wasnβ€˜t he complaining last year in Germany about how in Europe free speech was under attack? I am certain he will criticise Musk the same now, right? Right?

[–] Etterra@discuss.online 19 points 6 days ago

Fuck you NBC.

How adorable! It’s all the fuck over YouTube

[–] sqgl@sh.itjust.works 36 points 1 week ago (8 children)

Yes but if the presenters didn't mention it, I could not detect boos from the video alone.

I have noticed this often when someone gets booed. Pretty obvious when you are there but not on video. As an audio nerd it has me perplexed.

ICE providing security for American politicians in another country? Don’t they have a dedicated security group called the Secret service or something like that?

[–] Melvin_Ferd@lemmy.world 4 points 6 days ago

Makes me think they're there to scan the entire stadium and upload it to their new tracking database

[–] sunbeam60@feddit.uk 91 points 1 week ago (4 children)

Everyone hates you Vance. They hate you because you are dumb and you suck and you are a bad person.

Ask yourselves, why do officials need ICE protection when they have the Secret Service?

People should just upload it (slightly cut or stretched) again and again. And again.
