Love the Streisand effect. I had no idea there was footage of this cabbage patch chimp getting booed at the Olympics until they blocked it πŸ˜†

In Canada we don't censor that sort of stuff so watching the CBC stream was funny. All applause then the couch pest showed up and the entire stadium mood changed. Americans truly don't realize they are jokes outside of their country.

Like Israel at Eurovision. They had all the anti-booing on the streams, but some of it was still slipping through and Graham was like "I don't know what you can all hear at home, but this definitely an energetic reception" πŸ˜†

Post it on Mastodon and here instead.

The REAL free speech platforms.

Is that enough? Isn't there only like 11 million on mastadon?

[–] MousePotatoDoesStuff@lemmy.world 6 points 6 days ago (1 children)

You can also copy the Mastodon/Lemmy link to Twitter and Bluesky, I guess.

I'm with you, I just think on top of those we also need to focus on where people are. Facebook does the heavy lifting now. They show you the most popular right wing groups now. It's easy to post to them

Ask yourselves, why do officials need ICE protection when they have the Secret Service?

[–] ohulancutash@feddit.uk 16 points 6 days ago (1 children)

They’re there to assist policing American fans, not to protect officials.

[–] bob_lemon@feddit.org 10 points 6 days ago

Because the US didn't have enough actual police officers they could bring?

Wasnβ€˜t he complaining last year in Germany about how in Europe free speech was under attack? I am certain he will criticise Musk the same now, right? Right?

The video from the TV station must be copyrighted, but about everybody else's video from the audience?
