And with slight differences between the two?

[–] LadyMeow@lemmy.blahaj.zone 9 points 1 week ago

And apparently the under 25 crowd have Snapchat noir

[–] Innerworld@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago

Good catch, don't know. Here's the source.

[–] OldChicoAle@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

Probably AI generated. Slop.

[–] apfelwoiSchoppen@lemmy.world 11 points 1 week ago

There is a lot that I don't understand in this but the one that is screaming loudest is 'Why the fuck are people on Venmo that much? '.

Cheering for Peer tube, YouTube is truly the hardest platform to give up

35-44 is shown twice and the content is different in both columns. This is not data, this is rubbish

[–] slazer2au@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I want to see this again but remove all the forced installed apps and only shown apps that people download.

None of those apps come on iPhones.

Many Android phones are subsidized by apps and ads but that’s nothing new. Which ones come with which apps is anyone’s guess.

iPhones comes with bloatware such as imessage a stocks app for whatever reason

[–] cerebralhawks@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Texting is bloatware now? Flip phones came with the ability to text.

iMessage is just a service tacked on for enhanced messaging, but the app itself is just the texting app.

[–] protogen420@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

the imessage functionality is, anyway I havent seen SMS ever used in practice in the last 10 years with the exception of "verify phone number" for account creation

That doesn't qualify an SMS app as bloatware. It's still considered a standard feature of a phone.

The fact that it has enhanced features is beside the point. Google's has web sync (as in, you can message in a browser). This doesn't make it bloatware either. It's the system texting app. It's a bona fide part of the communication suite.

Hmph. Apparently im not at all representative of my age group.

[–] ohlaph@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Same. I have zero of the applications.

The Tik Tok gap in the middle is interesting

why did they stop at 45+? they should have at least taken it a few intervals higher. a 45yo is often more tech literate than their kids and parents. strange to group them with 65 year olds who never grew up with PCs.

[–] harmbugler@piefed.social 4 points 1 week ago

They have 35-44, 35-44 and 45+ where they maybe meant 35-44, 45-54 and 55+.

2/10, not bad. And since I use NewPipe for my YouTube needs, arguably 1/10.

Fucking Amazon though...

[–] semisimian@startrek.website 2 points 1 week ago

Fucking Amazon. They're dominating the replacement parts and hardware market so much that even the big box stores are decreasing their inventory for stuff I need daily for my job. Whatever I need, Amazon can get it to me faster and cheaper than anybody else - I know why and I hate that is the case. I am forced to participate to stay solvent in my work, forced to participate in the "land of the free."

[–] nocturne@slrpnk.net 1 points 1 week ago

0/10 for my age group. I have a couple of the top apps in younger groups though.

[–] deegeese@sopuli.xyz 1 points 1 week ago

I’m 0/10 on apps, but use a couple of those in Firefox with good ad blocking.
