I don't get it. Why not work on FunkWhale? It's opensource, on the fediverse, has a lot of work done and many problems solved. If they want to have monetization, that can probably be added either with the help of the existing devs, in a fork, or maybe even in a plugin if that's supported.

This looks like they're going to reinvent the wheel yet again.

Funkwhale focus on streaming, Mirlo focus on music selling. Two different type of project

You can download stuff with funkwhale too. What it's missing is a donation option and then it'd be like Bandcamp, IMO.
