RULES

  1. Be respectful: no harassment, hate speech, bigotry, and/or trolling.
  2. Encourage conversation in your OP. This means including heavily implicative subject matter when you can and also engaging in your thread when possible.
  3. Avoid controversial topics (e.g. politics or societal debates).
  4. Stay calm: Don’t post angry or to vent or complain. We are a place where everyone can forget about their everyday or not so everyday worries for a moment. Venting, complaining, or posting from a place of anger or resentment doesn't fit the atmosphere we try to foster at all. Feel free to post those on !goodoffmychest@lemmy.world
  5. Keep it clean and SFW
  6. No solicitation such as ads, promotional content, spam, surveys etc.

There was this trend a few ~~years~~ decades ago where a lot of people got lower back tattoos.

In Germany, we started to call them "Arschgeweih", which basically means ass antlers, and people quickly stopped getting them after that.

A few years... like, 20?

Calling them Arschgeweih made people stop getting them?

Why do you have to make me feel so old? :D

We call them Tramp Stamps in the US.

Fortunately that trend is still going on.

No need to look back, huge artificial nails. Why is it considered beautiful to make your hands non-functional?

It’s still happening: thin eyebrows. Also, bleaching eyebrows so they look transparent. It looks weird.

I'm really looking forward to the day I can look back on the fillers and botox trend.

Can fashion trends count? Because I look back at the JNCOs from the 90s with leg openings larger than the waist and wonder wtf we were thinking as teens back then. And the things cost so damn much because there was enough material to make 3 normal pair of jeans with them.

When I was a teen in the early 00'a, all boys wore really baggy pants and the girls wore pants that just barely covered their mounds. We looked really, really stupid!

looks around

Oh no, it's back

Yep, it's a scary moment when you realise your youth is fashionable again. I've never outgrown 90s stuff so often I'm accidentally on trend
