Hi! I'm pineapple_pizza, and I'm new in town
Your deliciousness is welcome though ππ
Hello! Me too!
And I'll try to keep my trap shut.
A Canadian classic, welcome.
Thank you for this information. Much appreciated! Notice it is a lively community here, which is great to contribute to. Onwards and upwards. Let's goooo

You can have a little click the red bar, as a treat.
Welcome new Users!!
PS. If you're looking for a good mobile app, Voyager works the best for me: https://getvoyager.app/
https://blorpblorp.xyz/ is also great.
This is what I useππΌ
Im going to toss in Summit as well. Really excellent, immensly customizable, steady updates.
And extensive filtering!
As a user of Relay for Reddit, this is excellent. So many of the same features and customisations that I feel right at home already.
The sign up page needs to be redesigned. I literally could not sign up a few days back. I think now what it was is the catcha has a white box underneath to enter the field, which can be missed.
Good point, thanks!
Welcome to all those new to piefed. Hope everyone enjoys their stay.
Many people prefer smaller images on the home page - go to https://piefed.social/user/settings and try the "More compact" option in the "Compact UI" field.
The other option - "Most compact" - is similar to old.reddit which is nice but not to everyone's taste.
Also try another theme! Amethyst is a popular one and the HPT themes are nice. Also Card Shadow. The rest are kinda experimental.
Neat ! Whatβs the reason for the influx of new users?
Successful posts on r/buyfromeu mostly. I think some others too.
Ah, should have guessed it was a Reddit thing π
Over the last week a hand full of posts have hit over ~450,000 views together.
See !fedibridge@lemmy.dbzer0.com for more info
Wow, I didn't know there is a South Africa instance!
It didn't exist until last week.
I'll move the South African sub to it eventually
Why are there more comments when I see this post on Lemmy.World than when I see it here?
Because there's a UI bug. We're aware of it.
The stickying of posts instance-wide has only just been rolled out.
Welcome! mmmm new meat.
just KIDDING!
OR AM I??
i am.
OR AM I THOUGH
They're made out of meat

Greetings from Lemmy.
I assume this was posted because there's an expected influx of new users? First, welcome! Second, I'm OOL. What'd Reddit do this time?
Nothing. Just some very successful promotions on r/buyfromeu and a canadian subreddit.
The subscribed to billions of communities I'm not interested in thing is part of why I haven't used this account since making it 9 months ago lol. I was expecting it to just subscribe me to like the generic movies/science/news comms or like just the top five mau of each category. Was the button always there and I was just blind?
is there any thread that share Bandcamp redeem code? I am new here to btw :-)
Anyone else having trouble uploading attachments?
Once you've registered you might like to try these alternative frontends - log in with your piefed.social credentials

Happy to be here! One of my goals for this year is to significantly decrease the amount of time I spend on centralised social media sites and apps.
I've made Mastodon, Piefed, and Matrix accounts.
Having been glued to the Reddit homepage for the better part of a decade, feels exciting to actually be somewhere new for a change!
Hey all :)
Is there a RES equivalent for this? I'd like non-ending scroll and to disable user hover popup π¬
If you are using the web UI, then you can disable the user popups by popping this bit of css in the Additional CSS field of your user settings:
.user_preview {
display: none;
}
As for infinite scroll, that isn't a feature of the native web UI. There are some alternative UIs that support PieFed, and I don't know all the features they have, so you might find that in those. Two that I know of:
- Photon: https://phtn.app/
- Blorp: https://blorpblorp.xyz/
Blorp dev here. Trying to support all PieFed features but I'm a little behind:
Currently working on:
- PieFed feeds (basically the same as Lemmy v1 multi community support)
Up next:
- Emoji reactions
- Create poll posts
- Create event posts
The PieFed devs are very fast and a little hard to keep up with π . But tbh, we already support more than enough of the PieFed api for you to have a great time imo. Please reach out to me if a specific one of those missing features is preventing you from joining.
Thanks, the CSS helped and Photon looks nifty!
I instantly feel in love with summit. It's super similar to Relay, which isn't that far off from RES.
