With how Rome 1 works, if you play as a Roman faction you eventually will have to fight the other Roman factions, including the SPQR. It was a pretty cool mechanic
I know, it was pretty rad. It's a bit sad that my faction would grow into an empire itself while the others would barely be able to grab a few cities outside of Italy... I always expected an epic showdown of Romans slaying their fellow citizens, but in reality it was my general sacking Rome in two turns while the other factions stood aside with the Surprise Pikachu face.
