Showerthoughts

A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. The most popular seem to be lighthearted clever little truths, hidden in daily life.

Here are some examples to inspire your own showerthoughts:

Rules

  1. All posts must be showerthoughts
  2. The entire showerthought must be in the title
  3. No politics
    • If your topic is in a grey area, please phrase it to emphasize the fascinating aspects, not the dramatic aspects. You can do this by avoiding overly politicized terms such as "capitalism" and "communism". If you must make comparisons, you can say something is different without saying something is better/worse.
    • A good place for politics is c/politicaldiscussion
  4. Posts must be original/unique
  5. Adhere to Lemmy's Code of Conduct and the TOS

If you made it this far, showerthoughts is accepting new mods. This community is generally tame so its not a lot of work, but having a few more mods would help reports get addressed a little sooner.

Whats it like to be a mod? Reports just show up as messages in your Lemmy inbox, and if a different mod has already addressed the report, the message goes away and you never worry about it.

I'm guessing it's hard to tell what color the skin is once it's cooked, so they'll insist on picking the cut with the skin on, like choosing a lobster out of a tank, and then watching it be prepared to ensure "purity". And, of course, to choose gender, they'd need to see the important bits intact. Also, no tattoos, and as few moles or other imperfections as possible.

This is why our meat sources need to be raised in clean, controlled conditions from birth, you want to know what you're eating. After all, you are what you eat.

(Holy crap, people are fucked up.)

But prions are a thing. Who knows what would happen otherwise.

Sounds perfect for a pie shop.

I honestly don't get what the big deal with cannibalism is. Like I found it appaling few years back, some vegan pointed out that if we eat animals, why not humans, and I actually gave it thought and...

No, really, why not? So many people die every day. So much meat goes to waste. So many organs which could aave so many lives. Wtf.

I don't love the second half of this post, it seems like bait to bring out the worst in people, but so far all of the comments seem to be keeping things civil and avoiding the bait.

Thanks all.

I'll have some of that human veal please

A man eating another man's meat is gay. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I mean women's meat would probably just be better. There's a reason we don't eat bulls or roosters generally. But yeah there's probably a lot of people who would prefer it for stupid reasons.

I prefer my humans grass fed and finished.

That's... Certainly a strange and oddly specific thought...
