Note that there seems to be no claim (as far as we can see in the article) that Cleland committed any crime. This is of course the difficulty with the discretionary rights of non-citizens in a country that is markedly uninterested in the idea of human rights beyond its constitution.

Now they start taking away privileges from citizens for disagreeing with government policy. Next they jail them.
