“Are you a proud American Citizen or does ICE need to come and track you down?” the email said.

Donald Trump’s administration has been using federal officers to go after undocumented immigrants, but now his political action committee is threatening to sic the agents on his own donors.

Earlier this week, Trump’s Never Surrender PAC sent out a fundraising email that had this provocative subject line: “Are you an illegal alien?”

“Your file says you’re a top MAGA patriot... But my records to my survey STILL say: RESPONSE PENDING. Don’t tell me, you’re an Illegal Alien?!? That cannot be true!” the message said, before adding, “This is your FINAL MOMENT to Prove me wrong ... please. Are you a proud American Citizen or does ICE need to come and track you down?”

This is hilarious.

Meanwhile, we await the Epstein files.

Congress even passed a law as I recall demanding their release over a month ago, but the phile’s files seem like they’re never coming out, continuing to break the law in the process.

[–] Ryanmiller70@lemmy.zip 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Was their even a consequence stated on if they didn't release the files? I'm guessing at most probably just a fine which equates to a slap on the wrist. Unless it's immediate prison time for 50+ years with no bail or parole, then it's not that important to them.

[–] hector@lemmy.today 3 points 2 weeks ago

It is worse than that because the president can just cancel any federal punishment.

It's always funny to me that these emails are always written from a first person pov... I guess they know their audience, and these idiots think there's a real person on the other end talking to them

[–] givesomefucks@lemmy.world 31 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

There is...

Boomer trump voters are actually reading them, and some staffer at least reads what chagpt spits out.

People always think Republicans are bad at messaging for some reason, but they've been exploiting psychology for decades.

This shit works on trump voters, but its not going to work on everyone.

Like, there's actual physical differences in the brains between left and right political voters. It's why neoliberals trying to use Republican strategy never works well. If it worked on Dem voters we wouldn't be Dem voters.

At election time I get emails from democrat candidates in my spam folder. They’re also first-person.

[–] givesomefucks@lemmy.world 5 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

It’s why neoliberals trying to use Republican strategy never works well.

I'm aware that some politicians with a D by their name think and act like Republicans and assume everyone else does as well.

That was the whole neoliberalism thing in the 80s when "moderate" Republicans took over the Dem party

That "experiment" ended last year and we'll get a fair primary again btw. There's still some shitty neoliberals in office, but we've never had a better opportunity to replace them then these next two primaries

[–] ohulancutash@feddit.uk 7 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Doubtful. They’re addicted to money.

[–] givesomefucks@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

The neoliberals are, but they lost control of the party a year ago...

[–] hector@lemmy.today 1 points 2 weeks ago

Who told you that, an ivy league suit?

[–] hector@lemmy.today 1 points 2 weeks ago

Says who? That is bullshit, they said the exact goddamn thing after Hillary clinton. They still have those super delegates in place by the way.

[–] notwhoyouthink@lemmy.zip 6 points 2 weeks ago

It’s all by design…they know that anyone who is dumb enough to believe that Trump wrote the email himself is also dumb enough to believe its content and donate.

I mean, they’ve already believed everything else they hear from their dear leader, so is this email actually surprising? It’s nothing in the face of nearly a decade’s worth of bullshit they’ve been happily scarfing down and voting in approval of.

Nothing says, "ICE is a legitimate government agency serving an unfortunate but necessary purpose," like "answer this survey or answer to ICE."

[–] ToTheGraveMyLove@sh.itjust.works 22 points 2 weeks ago

Yes, please do. Better than them attacking innocent people.

[–] Bronzebeard@lemmy.zip 19 points 2 weeks ago

And there it is. The fascism circling in on itself.

[–] ThePantser@sh.itjust.works 18 points 2 weeks ago

Good, take every penny from them. Get what you voted for.

[–] DrFistington@lemmy.world 16 points 2 weeks ago

So this brings up a thought I've had. You can easily look up a person's political donations and find their address through public records. Wouldn't it be interesting if groups of masked, armed men started going around to known Trump supporters to demand that they pay protection fees

[–] TrickDacy@lemmy.world 9 points 2 weeks ago

This wouldn't have been surprising in 2016.

[–] someguy3@lemmy.world 7 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

Hahahaha I wonder how maga will respond to blackmail threats. I want to think badly but I have no fucking idea anymore.

[–] SpikesOtherDog@ani.social 7 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

It's going to be laughed off as a joke.

[–] someguy3@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago

You're probably right.

[–] hector@lemmy.today 4 points 2 weeks ago

This is not new for them, they have done this during election season sending out emails saying the president knows you haven't been donating like you were before and he's disappointed in you and we're keeping track kind of shit.

[–] Drusas@fedia.io 5 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I love that thumbnail.

He looks like he's on Death's door.

[–] altphoto@lemmy.today 2 points 2 weeks ago

No no, we could only wish. They just took him out of the fridge and the water in the air is condensing on the surface.

Someone needs to drink the cool aid LOL.
