This isn’t one of those crazy stories I read on here- but please bear with me
The last couple years of my mom’s life were pretty hellish. She had been diagnosed with Dementia in 2023- but showed signs long before. She wasn’t a balanced woman through the years and the dementia only made this worse- way worse. I cared for her the best I could with no help. She was angry- she always had been but when she lost her independence something in her snapped. As I said, she was never right. Her and my dad had put a belt around my neck choking my when I was 14 and emotional abuse was rampant.
Anyways- she had a heart attack in 2024 after caring for her since 2021. I had to put her in a memory care unit- I couldn’t do it anymore. The screaming, accusations, and torment had finally gotten to be too much. Plus- she needed 24/7 medical care so I couldn’t do it anyways.
I know I betrayed her when I did this- but I was close to killing myself. She was angry- and eventually sedated because nobody could handle her and she passed 2 months later.
The day she passed I walked into her home and all the heaters were on in the house. It was July. They weren’t turned on- the switches weren’t moved - they were just on. One of them was sparking. I called the fire department and they came to shut off the electricity. They shut the heat breakers off and left after things had calmed down. I left but came back later and one more was on…. We shut all power down to the house immediately
Six months later- the day the house was closed on- the heater came back on with fury that literally hadn’t worked in years. I was saying goodbye to the house and this happened.
Am I crazy or could this have been my angry mom?? Or maybe she wasn’t mad at me anymore :(
