coworkers were swapping between phones on the bluetooth speaker today and one dude was using youtube for music and we were roasting them when ads came up. i felt bad after a couple roasts and offered to look into an add-free alternative for iOS.

though i'm sure the answer is no. either way, thanks for your help chapisimos!

even a workaround like if mozilla browser + ublock origin + youtube webpage works, or something similar

Apple doesn’t allow plugins so you won’t be able to install ublock

the combo works fine on android afaik (but you can also just use newpipe so...) i'm just wondering what ad-blocking youtube looks like in the ios landscape.

Apple has thoroughly locked down and policed the app store and IOS to make it nearly impossible to load your own programs (if not jailbroken). The forced updates makes solutions to this untenable.

The only solution is to use an objectively more superior mobile operating system (for your freedom) like Graphene OS/Calyx OS or /e/ that allows you to sideload your own programs.

In other words, Apple phones are useless, fuck IOS.
