Comic Strips is a community for those who love comic stories.

You find this sort of hipster messaging is ever actually helpful?
Lots of people, myself included, have been angry about this for awhile now. But also, deaths in 25 were more than twice as high than the next highest listed. And 27 shootings 3 fatalities just in this year, and January isn't even over. Yeah, even more people are obviously going to be angry.

Some of it is a function of media. Media typically doesn't cover when non-white people get murdered. Some of it is the media reflecting the racism of its viewers. Some of it is being caught on video and leaving less room for doubt (and the media deciding to show the videos). There's also been protests and action being taken by normal citizens before these white people got killed (these white people were killed doing it, after all).
History time.
After the Kent State shootings, a lot of people stepped away from activism because they realized that marching could get them killed.
I'd say the difference right now is that Kent state came out of nowhere; there'd been plenty of marches before with no problem. Trump has been tearing down the rule of law for a decade now.

People just felt they had to prove it to others that ICE is literally anti-american, and is not after just immigrants or whatever. If the white guy had drawn the gun, they would be way less upset, because there would be plausible deniability. It is hard to paint a nurse as a drug junkie.

I am happy that people are mad about the death of Renee Good and Alex Pretti. But I am also saddened that it took their deaths for people to care. If I was killed by ICE next week, would anyone care? Do I not deserve angry protesters?
Highly disappointed with this comment section right now. If you feel divided by this post then maybe take time to reflect. You're not a villain for only being sad about he recent killings, but getting mad at Bad for posting this is a shame.
The trick to getting people to be outraged about your murder hasn't much to do with being black or white or brown
It's mostly about the murder being on-camera, from multiple angles, filmed by people and released to public scrutiny immediately
As well as it being very extremely clear that it was an unnecessary killing, a deliberate murder.
So, if you're gonna get killed next week, please make sure there are plenty of witnesses with cameras all around you.
People have been caring for a mong time. These killing are just so violent, so obviously unjustified, and most importantly, they have been filmed with many many angles, that it show how full of hate ICE and MAGA really are.
People were already upset even before Good and Pretti were murdered. Why are you pretending people didn't care before?
