They also described how the agents on the scene initially would not let them through to attend to Pretti, repeatedly asking for a physician’s license and eventually patting them down to “make sure I didn’t have a weapon.”

Just another small example of how poorly trained these knuckle-draggers are. They think doctors carry proof of medical licensing on them.

No they don't. It's just them trying to force authority.

[–] Tiger666@lemmy.ca 11 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

No, its them making sure the person they just assassinated is actually dead and cant talk.

[–] TwodogsFighting@lemdro.id 2 points 3 hours ago

That's literally forcing authority.

“As I approached, I saw that the victim was lying on his side and was surrounded by several ICE agents. I was confused as to why the victim was on his side, because that is not standard practice when a victim has been shot,” the unnamed doctor wrote in a declaration added to a lawsuit challenging ICE’s use of force in Minnesota.

“Checking for a pulse and administering CPR is standard practice. Instead of doing either of those things, the ICE agents appeared to be counting his bullet wounds....

They were counting exits. Who else did that last year?

[–] hperrin@lemmy.ca 99 points 1 day ago (6 children)

What the fuck is wrong with these sociopaths?

And desire to kill. Power tripping assholes.

[–] Dogiedog64@lemmy.world 86 points 1 day ago (1 children)

They're Fascists. Empathy and compassion are alien to them, as is intelligence.

[–] Instigate@aussie.zone 17 points 1 day ago

I’d go one step further to say that empathy and compassion aren’t actually alien concepts to them - they know full well what they are. Empathy and compassion are signs of weakness to them. Empathy and compassion are evils to them. Empathy and compassion are anathema to their worldview. Empathy and compassion are for those whom they hunt.

They view themselves as amoral apex predators, able to take what they want under ‘might makes right’. They aren’t all psychopaths - they’re sociopaths who selectively choose towards whom they feel empathy and compassion. They’re cognisant of this and view it as their strength. They’re fucking malevolent.

You answered your own question

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 15 points 1 day ago

They're Sociopaths.

[–] Mirshe@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Because a lot of ICE and CBP are literal murderers, and I mean that truly. Many of them were just waiting for SOME reason to kill a person.

[–] lka1988@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 day ago

They're the embodiment of the 2A assholes.

[–] SapphironZA@sh.itjust.works 6 points 1 day ago

Pain and suffering is the point.

[–] MehBlah@lemmy.world 46 points 1 day ago (1 children)

No matter why, somewhere in the group think its acceptable to watch a man die and only be concerned with how many times you tried to make it happen. This implies they have been instructed to kill. Kill US citizens. I wonder how many seeing this think it couldn't happen to them.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 42 points 1 day ago (1 children)

It quickly turned into a firing squad, with them backing up into a perfectly spaced semi-circle, with all of them firing. The idea is to be to ventilate him so many bullets from so many weapons, that it is impossible to pin the actual death on a single person. Then they can make a case for reasonable doubt in court, by blaming others. I didn't kill him, that guy did.

That firing squad happened so spontaneously, that they had obviously trained for it. Get it? Part of their training involves arranging into a firing squad to execute their prey - US.

It also seems like they've been told to respond with lethal force for certain situations. Blocking car? Get in front of it, and start killing. Discover a protester with a gun? Immediately kill them. Both of these latest murders were by veteran officers who can't use the excuse of being untrained. These are the guys you can count on to follow through, so they've been given order to behave like this.

So who gave these orders? Noem? PeeWee Himmler? Trump?

That doesn't work as a defence in common-law jurisdictions (at least), because all participants who deliberately participate in a crime are considered equally guilty of it.

I'd say this is not a strategy to avoid prosecution, but more the brazen acts of individuals who don't fear prosecution.

I hate this stupid website. Who thought this is a good design‽

[–] oxysis@lemmy.blahaj.zone 30 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

When you put it on reader mode they add in a bunch of stuff to try to guilt trip you into donating. Well maybe I wouldn’t be using reader mode if reading the article normally wasn’t so dogshit.

[–] SendMePhotos@lemmy.world 14 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Use reader mode. It'll get rid of all the extra stuff.

[–] lena@gregtech.eu 12 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Brave doesn't have such an option, I just installed Firefox and it works well. I think I'll keep it!

[–] SendMePhotos@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

Also install ublock origin to get rid of adds and video background play fix (to use YouTube in the background on Firefox)

In the declaration the doctor said they witnessed the incident and that from what they had seen there was “absolutely no need for violence.” They also described how the agents on the scene initially would not let them through to attend to Pretti, repeatedly asking for a physician’s license and eventually patting them down to “make sure I didn’t have a weapon.”

[–] Klear@quokk.au 33 points 2 days ago (1 children)

That's a hell of a garden-path sentence.

[–] peopleproblems@lemmy.world 13 points 1 day ago

That sounds like something they were instructed to do.

You know so that one gravy seal doesn't take all the blame?

[–] iamthetot@piefed.ca 16 points 1 day ago (3 children)

I'm assuming they they were counting for the purposes of a report. To be clear, I consider the issue here is not that they are counting, as I actually want that info for the report, but rather that they weren't administering first aid, as the doctor points out.

Not that I expect that, frankly, from them. Especially not after Good.

[–] perviouslyiner@lemmy.world 17 points 1 day ago

Leaving the scene unsecured and destroying evidence doesn't indicate much interest in writing accurate reports

[–] Noodle07@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

Why would they provide first aid ? Is israel providing first aid to Palestinians ? They're here to kill

[–] driving_crooner@lemmy.eco.br 1 points 1 day ago

Or to make sure they take our all the caskets

I read “Doctor Who” like the show

[–] D_C@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Bullshit. There's no way those pigs have the intelligence to know how to count!!

[–] eattherich@feddit.online 5 points 1 day ago

That's so nice of them, we should start returning the favor.
