Rules
AI Art: While we appreciate AI generated art, there are more appropriate communities to post that type of art to. Please keep posts to non-AI generated art only. This rule includes AI art that was then manually manipulated (e.g. drawing on top of something generated by AI).
NSFW Policy: Nudity and suggestive content has always been a part of art, but it may be something that some users don't wish to see or cannot view in certain circumstances (e.g. at work). If your work contains nudity or suggestive content, please mark it as NSFW. Work that contains nudity or suggestive content that is not marked as NSFW will be taken down. As long as the NSFW tag is used, we welcome nude or suggestive subject matter. If you aren't sure if your work is NSFW or not, just ask yourself, "Could I look at this at a typical office job and not get into trouble?" If you're still not sure after that, you should probably mark it as NSFW just to be on the safe side.
Spam: Please do not spam this community. Self promotion is fine if you just want people to be aware of your work, but blatant attempts at spam will result in the past being removed and possibly a ban. If you aren't sure if what you are posting is spam, please contact the moderator first.
Conduct: Be nice, and don't be a jerk. Constructive criticism is OK, but don't be mean. Encouragement is always welcomed.
The worst part about getting good at something is doing it over and over.
Some say it's the best part, but my mind doesn't work that way, I want to get good instantly.
Draw more trees. Post them.
I got really good at drawing vines climbing up the margin of my school notebooks.
Of all the things I try to sketch on, the phone is the worst. Paper and pencil or Bic pen is the way. Easy to see progress in a sketchbook. Then take pics with the phone. π· Also, Krita is the best!
That's pretty good! Have you drawn before?
I you want a bit of advice:
You get good at art by observing, understanding shapes, lights and shadows.
Keep it up, you're on the right track
never, unless you count stick figures when i was a child
Watch some videos on Urban Sketching. Even if you donβt want to do that kind of art, itβs amazing seeing a bunch of squiggly lines suddenly become buildings and people and such.
The secret of improving:
First, you don't know what you're doing.
Then, you keep doing it.
Eventually, you realize you know a lot but don't know how you got there, but you're satisfied.
Looks good! Staring at a blank canvas is always the toughest part, so good on you for putting lines down. Simple lines really are powerful. Being able to take an object and simplify it down as much as possible is an important skill for art. Krita's a great program, too.
Don't have a tablet so can't use Krita for Android, but using the PC version, and I find it fantastic. It even overlaps somewhat with GIMP, even if the focus of them is clearly different.
I just put it on my phone from f-driod. It'll be cluttered, but I've not used it before so I'm sure some tweaking could be done to make it more usable

Mine is a normal phone and it's also super cluttered, which makes me think it's designed for tablets indeed.
Excellent, keep it up.
I'm trying out Krita, too (Linux version, I didn't think it's that different). I'm tinkering trying different things, drawing lines, filling in between lines I've drawn, making shades and textures. Today I tried some watercolor brushes to make a sky and field, they don't look much like watercolor, though. I'm going to watch more videos on using Krita.
That's a nice happy little tree! And it looks like it has a little home for an owl :3 nice work
My mom always told me that the secret to drawing trees was drawing Y's.
