I agree it's fucking stupid to fight about it, and yes, it's a distraction, but that doesn't take away from the real pain that people are feeling that is caused by these distraction tactics.

No? What gave you that impression? The only semi-serious press I see about this is from the sports column of USA Today. Everything else – what little there is – is tabloid trash like The Daily Beast or the Daily Mail (don't construe this as me putting those on the same level; a tide pool and an abyssal trench are both in the ocean).

I'd say more corporate woke than woke. A man in a dress is a cultural statement, sure, but it won't cause a rift in the market the way Palestinian activists getting their message through might. I think Bad Bunny is a force for good though, and the more google searches on his name the better off we are. It'd be nice if the Democrats could muster the courage to support marginalized folks, so in their absence it's at least nice that celebrities mostly do.
