We’ve known for a while that the current government in Tehran has been willing to do awful things, but that it’s constantly being brought up now makes me think that this is an attempt to manufacture consent to start another war. This is, obviously, a very bad idea.

The US put the current leader in power, what are you talking about?

[–] tangentism@beehaw.org 2 points 2 days ago

The US have either directly or unintentionally installed every one of their leaders since the 1953 coup!

They're now trying to put forward the son of the last Shah while Mossad is importing arms to agent provocateurs resulting in civilians getting killed

EDIT: I'm not just gonna potentially do the propaganda work of a nation state. So I'll add my personal opinion here. It is very possible both these sources are influenced to pushing regime change, and not for the people, but their own self-interests. The numbers are extremely high, and many adjacent information don't line up with this narrative. Please use your own critical thinking.

Is it too much to say this is down to religion?

[–] adhd_traco@piefed.social 4 points 2 days ago

You don't need religion to be authoritarian, tyrannical and self-centred.
