Fatal shooting comes less than three weeks after Renee Good was killed by federal immigration agent in city

A person was shot to death by federal law enforcement officers on Saturday in Minneapolis for the second time in less than three weeks.

Saturday morning’s shooting comes after Renee Good, a 37-year-old American citizen, was shot and killed on 7 January by a federal immigration officer in Minneapolis after video showed her trying to drive away from a confrontation, sparking protests nationwide.

City and local police officials said in their statement that the “shooting involving federal law enforcement” occurred in the area of West 26th Street and Nicollet Avenue, and that they were “working to confirm additional details”.

I'm no expert and I honestly would like to know, where is he concealing a 9mm with an extra magazine?

[–] s1ndr0m3@lemmy.world 13 points 1 hour ago

It doesn't matter. It was his right to carry. He had a concealed carry permit. If he had a weapon, it was never in his hand. The Gestapo attacked and executed him for placing his body between them and a woman they were attempting to assault.

Video seems to show an agent pulling the gun from the back of his waist. It could have been tucked in his belt but most people with a concealed carry license use an actual holster. An IWB (inside waist band) holster is my educated guess. Some holsters have space for an extra magazine or he could have had one tucked away in any pocket.

Prison wallet obviously.

ICE is there to terrorize non-white people and murder 37-year olds. Change my mind.

ICE is there to terrorize

You could've stopped after this. They are the gestapo.

I believe this is the 'tyranny' that the right-wingers are always talking about, and they are defending it now.

[–] ceenote@lemmy.world 5 points 1 hour ago

Right-wingers do not have principles. They have tribes, and nothing else. If my team did something, it's good; if their team did something, it's bad.

Why does it matter if he is a US citizen? Speaks volumes about what is getting covered and what is not

[–] halcyoncmdr@piefed.social 16 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

It just adds to the pile of facts showing they're not actually doing what they claim.

ICE should have absolutely nothing to do with citizens.

[–] brewery@feddit.uk 9 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

Oh, actually that does make sense. They say they're only targeting "illegal" immigrants and have no authority to police against citizens so this adds to the blatant lies. Thanks for the input.

It is still galling to see though so hope you can see that it is horrible to see, especially as a minority. It's hard not to interpret as only citizens (or in some way white people) matter

I took it the same way you did. The person who responded to you was of course correct, but the larger truth is that 100% ALL lives matter, black and brown lives every bit as much as white lives, non-citizen lives as much as citizen lives, etc. The distinctions are both immaterial and artificial in terms of value of life, a way to foster division where in truth there is none.

I'm glad you posted. It's a good reminder.

I want to see them at the Nuremberg trial. I have no words to describe how much I despise these people.

ICE agents will "help" Italian police at the Olympics in February. I'll be there hopefully spitting on each one of them
