So does the 4th and 2nd amendment
Liberal Gun Owners
A community for pro-gun liberals.
Every American knows what to do when on that jury.
Unfortunately 40% would do the wrong thing just for a taste of some boot.
You can't ask those people to starve, they can't eat anything else but boot, clearly.
Local laws may vary but defense of others is typically seen as valid too. Imminent threat of nighttime home invasion is probably in a textbook as the obvious example of when a reasonable and capable person may intervene.
Masked armed thugs stacking up on your neighbor's door? Tally ho, motherfucker.
They make it an easy shot for sure
Note, the law usually specifies defense of the innocent.
Even minor charges against the person you’re defending could complicate your legal case.
It'd be complicated, sure, but that's a drop in the much larger bucket of a case. What does a reasonable person know or believe at the moment of the perceived danger though? Won't rule it out but can't see a courtroom conclusion stating that I should have hopped on my computer to do a background check first. I do have evidence of a murderous gang of terrorists targeting people (citizen or otherwise) on American soil, however, and they like to dress up in an imitation of police gear.
Arizona with a W rn, look at that
But is it Arizonaw or Warizona?
Not only will they shoot back, more of them will show up quickly. This would not end in court for you, methinks.
Seems like they’d kill you anyways
Do the right thing and not have to go to court? But what's the downside?
'you won't win, so why even bother trying'
