MODERATORS
There is a simple solution - talk to democrats and make a compromise.
They can't do that. And that's not a political thing. They literally can't do that. Until a speaker is elected the House is closed (except for speaker votes). If the funding period ends with out a speaker, then the government shutdowns regardless of what either party wants. Since Republicans hold a majority, there is very little the Democrats can contribute.
Dems are also voting on Speaker. Repubs need to work with Dems to elect a Speaker.
Remember that Redditor who made the "join us" memes every time someone dropped out of the 2020 Dem primary? They need to do that for the GOP House speaker nominees.
What an honour!
