Not advocating for Ring use but doesn’t enabling feed and storage encryption reduce/remove this problem? Enabling it seems to limit a lot of features that would be dependent upon an unencrypted feed.

Who stores the key? Do you create it or do they. If they create the key then they can keep a copy.
