I was wondering if there are any nail art enthusiasts amongst us.

I sometimes do my nails elaborately, but I usually run out of steam to do the other hand :P, currently my right hand is "naked", I also work with strong solvents on a regular basis so the polish gets ruined, but I'm trying to be more consistent with using gloves.

How about you?

Wether you do it yourself or get it professionally done. Care to show us your nailart?

I've gotten really good at painting my nails over the past few years and I have some fancy nail polishes I like to use. I especially enjoy magnetic ones, my favourite is probably Deep Space from ILNP! I don't have any recent pictures unfortunately and the older ones don't live up to my current standards 😬

When it comes to actual nail art I'm still a beginner, but I'd like to get better at that too! I bought some brushes a few months ago but I haven't practiced that much with them yet. My first attempt wasn't terrible but definitely not as clean as I would like. And some of the layers I painted on top were a bit too thick. I've also tried to make a gradient with a sponge, I love that look. I'm still having issues with not making a huge mess there, the liquid latex I'm using really doesn't want to cooperate.

Amazing nails by the way! How did you make that pattern? The ring looks pretty unique too, I love it.

Those magnetic ones are super cool! And gradients are rad, I should do them more. It's kinda hard working with such small canvases right? But plain color and cool effects are also awesome.

And thank you! For the pattern I free handed some organic, chunky lines, with the brush from the bottle, nothing fancy. ˙ ᴗ ˙ usually prefer free hand because I make a mess with stencils and stamps, I'm an absolute beginner as well.

Sometimes I draw something more geometric with a toothpick, but thats the extent of my techniques. Heh

(The ring depicts the mask of the mexica god of rain, thunder and lightning, Tláloc. One of my faves)

I miss painting my nails. I haven't been able to find time for it in the longest.

I really like the green color in the photo with the black. It makes me think of tropical forest and leaves in the shadows

I know, sometimes life gets in the way of even these "small rituals".

And I like your description, very poetic! :)

Yes! But designs rarely turn out how I imagined, so I usually just use plain colors :3

My go to is to free style some swirly lines, it's hard to mess up! then lots of glitter to cover up any mistakes

I just wish I could grow decent fingernails. Mine are so weak and crumbly.

I know the struggle, it sucks! One thing that helps a lot is applying nail/cuticle oil religiously. Especially after contact with water, water really dries out your nails.

It was like that at the beginning for me too. What worked for me was letting them grow very little, and mantain that lenght for a while. Then letting then grow a bit more, and so on. Used several layers of polish, clear or with color to help them "structurally."

Yes! On other people. I am too clumsy to keep nail art in good condition longer than 15 minutes.

(╥﹏╥) I feel you girl.

Wow! Your nails are absolutely stunning. I have everything I need to do my nails but I just never get around to trying it
