I enjoy play-by-plays like this. That grift is so big and so established that I truly consider it a hobby to keep watching it go. sicko-peepin

My favourite slop it absolutely makes my day to hear how much of a shitshow this game is. I didn't buy into it back in 2016 and i feel vindicated

i devour this slop whenever i can. i totally get it lol

i barely remember specifics but there's something about witnessing these types of gamers build themselves up over time amd eventually crumble into gamer dust. they are just so smug about their grift game.

these gamers deserve it idc

I think it’s the combination of them being so blinded by Gen X/Millennial nostalgia and being whales that clearly have way more money than common sense. There’s something cathartic about the blatant affirmation that being able to make a good amount of money in this political economy is not an automatic indicator of intelligence or critical thinking.

And Roberts is a great character to be at the center of it, a creative who had a stroke of genius thirty years ago but now has fallen into the trap of believing his own mythos. So he’s that rare creature of a grifter who thinks his grift is justified because he’s deluded himself into thinking he’s really going to make the video game to end all video games.

the guy so clearly huffs his own effluence. he reminds me of (and actually forces me to respect) his contemporary, the former heavyweight grift champ Molyneaux. Though thinking about it more, to compare them is an insult to molyneaux who actually releases games.

Yeah there’s a difference between over promising but under delivering on a finished product and not having a finished product at all.
