SF6 runs like a charm on the steam deck so I figured it would run fine on my desktop with Pop_OS. It doesn't seem to launch at all, nothing happens when I click the launch button.

For reference I have an NVIDIA 3060 and I do have the latest driver installed. I did try it with Proton Experimental and 8. Steam also downloaded a package called Sniper Runtime or something similar.

Any tips or advice would be appreciated, thanks!

that's the funky thing about gaming on linux, sometimes it works just fine for folks, sometimes it doesn't for others lol

I don't own street fighter 6 but when games don't work out of the box I check the fixes that are on protondb. Seems like one is just adding RADV_PERFTEST=gpl to the launch options. Another is adding VKD3D_CONFIG=pipeline_library_app_cache %command%

i was reading about people having issues with their nvidia GPUs messing up with vulkan specifically with games built on RE engine on drivers before 535, so that's probably the culprit. thanks for diggin those lines of code out, i'll try it out soon!

For me most of the time it is steam trying to install DirectX. Look for a process called directx and kill it, after that the game should start.

Do you have mangohud or a game scope enabled? There's currently something going on between the Steam Plant and the NVIDIA drivers where on my end I have to disable mangohud for any of my Steam games launch. I've read that the new beta client of Steam fixes the issue.
