The look my non-binary AMAB friend gave me when I said “I guess we gotta figure out how to get ____ pregnant now” killed me lol, especially one second later when they realized the face they were making haha
It was the look a sad bordercollie might give after hearing you say the word “park”.
Oh man, I made a comment like "the UK's energy infrastructure has never been greener" and got the same look followed by a firm talk about how it's losing in the oil and gas markets with untapped potential.
I asked him "would you rather live next to a windmill or an oil refinery?" and he shut the hell up.
He's not even a bad guy, and he's not friends with any oil bigwigs as far as I know. He just likes to read the economist and give the impression that he's "good at business".
Often the memes need a caption saying what expression they think the image conveys.
I understand it even less now.
I think that's the probably the exact expression they made. I've seen it made by people when positive talk about trans stuff or some lefty type shit (communism working, unions being not criminal gangs, something else that came up completely organically but they thought that surely they would NEVER support that type of thing and so hearing it makes this rage/I'm trapped here tho/I'm gonna demonize you with everything I've got because your the moral center of my problem type deal happen.
Like some people legit get dead locked up like this cause they don't know how to express disagreement in mixed political company/politely (fight that fight they think they need/want to without needing to give up their social illusion/ground) and see it as something they NEED to address to be morally set but obviously lack the requisite empathy to do so in way that is socially acceptable at ALL (see the 'I'd kill the gays/democrats' type people for reference (plenty in the US)) and so they get locked up with the perceived MAJOR morality issues with whatever topic that came up is, that it bugs their system out (like they can't be enslaved by the woke mind virus and so that's their automatic defense operating system thing) (see sympathetic nervous system)
Maybe she's really totally emotionally deadpan about it and shes just interested but this"whipped her head around" and looked like with THAT expression about THAT thing has got this shit written all over it imo
For the accessibility end of it its like a "YOU ARE or are SUPPOSED TO BE even less then vermin, like the scum of my boot but your actually here and real and complex and not AT ALL like they taught us SO 👀." and now they are one THOUSAND percent seriously engaged/evaluating/scrutinizing/reevaluating type of hard ass looking at you.
