Along with an entirely new set of awards you can give out across Steam the changes should stop all the clown farming on reviews, guides, forum posts and more.

You've probably seen guides and forum posts that are just pure silly bait on Steam, as it has become a bit of a problem since people expected to get a bunch of clown awards — and they did, it was everywhere. This should hopefully now be a thing of the past. In the Steam announcement Valve mentioned that Steam Awards no longer transfer points over, and they've retired the old awards in favour of a completely new set.

Now it's purely about showing appreciation, with all the awards costing the same amount of Steam Points too.

And the day will surely come, where someone would explain to me why anyone should farm those? For what? Stupid stickers?

I literally drown in 7 figure points and award a lot of those max-point-awards and it still won't decline. What do people do with those?

Anyhow...good change! I'm so fed with all those useless edgy 1-liner-"reviews" meant to be "funny".

Make new account to scam people -> farm points through ragebait -> buy cosmetics to seem more legit -> scam more effectively. Legit accounts don't need the points as they usually drown in them anyways like you said

Would make sense, but since when do cosmetics make you seem more legit? You'd need some games to look legit and those usually give you enough of those.

Then again, a stupid oneliner rage review isn't much work either...m

yee idk I never fell for a scam but every time a scammer account tries to add me, they have hundreds of hours in csgo or other f2p games, profile level 10 and are decked out on cosmetics

Lol exactly. Nothing a few stickers and backgrounds could solve. But there are legit ppl just playing one f2p, but those usually don't add you, they play their f2p 😁

Glad to see it. So many discussions that were just anti woke spam or add lgbt flag bait posts.
