Make court justice unreliable and folks will simply resort to street justice.

[–] RaoulDuke85@piefed.social 6 points 2 months ago

Seems to be the obvious choice every day.

Why would they charge the Gestapo officer for following The Party Directives?

If anyone thinks he'll face charges at federal level, they're delusional.

[–] hopesdead@startrek.website 37 points 2 months ago (1 children)

LegalEagle has a video breaking down the video and discussing the laws pertaining to this. https://youtu.be/7AQbhes-Ntw

[–] Bischmeister@lemmy.world 5 points 2 months ago

This was a good video 🙂

[–] Sanctus@anarchist.nexus 27 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Why dont we try "One of Us, All of Your's" then? Like Noem touts on her fucken podiums.

[–] calliope@retrolemmy.com 7 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I think she’s trying to chant “one of us gobble gobble” like the rest of the circus freaks.

[–] Sanctus@anarchist.nexus 9 points 2 months ago (1 children)

It was just printed on her podium. Doesnt matter where it comes from. Nasty shit coming from the head of a powerful institution. Maybe it was a bad move leaving those laying around.

[–] HasturInYellow@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I think it's important to remember that that quote LITERALLY comes from Nazi Germany.

[–] Sanctus@anarchist.nexus 5 points 2 months ago (1 children)

No it doesnt, not verbatim. It may capture Nazi ethos and actions but it is not a direct quote from what I can dig up. A similar spanish quote was apparently used by Spanish fascists in the 1930s, "Uno de los nuestros vale por todos los vuestros", which is pretty much the same thing. But the factoid everyone seems to be passing around about an SS Officer being killed is incorrect.

[–] HasturInYellow@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Well shit. Color me surprised, the internet lied to me.

That's said, if that's how they feel, I will agree. We will do the same. Every fascist must be removed from the earth.

[–] chicken@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 2 months ago

Here's a historical analysis of the question I thought was interesting. Even though the idea that the Nazis coined the specific phrase is baseless, they did threaten and practice that sort of retaliation.

[–] Sanctus@anarchist.nexus 1 points 2 months ago

It may be hard to believe but fascists do have a place in the world. Its at the bottom of the Mariana Trench with no equipment.

The state will have to file if the attorneys want to be re elected.

They talk about investigating, there is nothing to investigate we have multiple videos. The only thing to investigate is the law and how it plays out with the federal agent in a state.

[–] grue@lemmy.world 21 points 2 months ago

The state will have to file if the attorneys want to be re elected.

Never mind reelection; they need to file if they want to continue to exist in society at all. That point needs to be impressed upon them, emphatically.

[–] HubertManne@piefed.social 11 points 2 months ago

As far as I know no charges have happened for the franklin park guy that was murdered by them or the woman filled full of holes or the recent couple that was shot. I seriously don't get trumps supporters.

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 11 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Federal agencies murdering Americans with total impunity.

Brought to you by every single conservative you know.

[–] nforminvasion@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago

Always been this way. Say whatever you want about Waco (I fucking hate cults and any fundamentalist religion, so this is no support for the cult) and Ruby Ridge but those are just two examples.

Obama calling a drone strike on a US Citizen's wedding in Yemen, the CIA killing probably thousands of Americans but we only know of a few dozen declassified, Kent shooting, and a few more.

It's just more visible now. Sorry if you've seen this line before but it's so true: fascism is imperialism turning inwards. And that inward turning is not only onto domestic operations but also in relation to the "ingroup". Black people being killed for decades (even excluding lynchings) has been ignored by the general population but now, that same hatred and cruelty is being applied to everyone else. The ingroup just got a WHOLE lot smaller.

And allowed by every democrat. All they do is either issue "slamming" statements or resign - "fuck it, not gonna deal with this".

[–] Formfiller@lemmy.world 11 points 2 months ago

We’re all the frog in the pot.

[–] inclementimmigrant@lemmy.world 8 points 2 months ago

Federal charges were never on the table with this MAGA administration.

State charges are still a possibility.

[–] chuckleslord@lemmy.world 8 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Federal charges. Which, like duh. He's going to be charged by the state, though

What’s the statute of limitations? It does not matter how long it takes this murderer will pay for his crimes

[–] Triumph@fedia.io 15 points 2 months ago

There is no statute of limitations on murder.

[–] GreenBeanMachine@lemmy.world 5 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

And this sets precedent and sends a message to all ICE that they can just shoot innocent civilians in the face with no consequences.

Welcome to the new FSA - Fascist States of America!

All hail the land of the pedophile fascists! 🫡

Maybe Americans should do another protest march, that will surely make Trump think twice... whether he should make an AI vid of him pissing or shitting on all of the Americans.

Also make sure to dress up as inflatable Pokémons, because that really portrays how unsatisfied and serious you all are.

[–] OshagHennessey@lemmy.world 5 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Criminal charges is the compromise we're offering. If they won't agree to that, if those are the rules they wanna play by, there's no reason not to shoot ICE agents on sight.

[–] sunbytes@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago (3 children)

The reason to not do that is that Trump wants you to kill ice agents.

That's why he's ramping up the violence and rhetoric constantly.

He wants an excuse to use the insurrection act before / at the midterms.

What about a civil suit?

Maybe her family could make him and his family poor for life.

It doesn't substitute for Ms. Good's life in any way, but it does a mote of justice.

[–] AlecSadler@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 2 months ago

We could burn his house down

[–] grue@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago

Every state and local official who fails to prosecute is also guilty and should be dealt with accordingly.

They need to be scared not to do their job.

[–] errer@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Has anyone doxxed this piece of shit yet?

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 9 points 2 months ago

His bosses did

[–] myfunnyaccountname@lemmy.zip 3 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I am shocked. You mean the legal system and government will do literally fucking nothing. That is unimaginable.

[–] Rooster326@programming.dev 2 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

They didn't do nothing.

They raised the murderer's home to hide evidence. They spoke to police unions. They increased their presence in Minneapolis. They are now going door to door while blocking entire streets.

They have, and will continue to do a lot about this.

[–] melsaskca@lemmy.ca 2 points 2 months ago

I believe the precedented standard is time-off with pay. /s
