This man, like all severe narcissists, is emotionally a child with childlike coping mechanisms and childlike emotional regulation. He suffers from a deep and defining personal inadequacy instilled by his fucked up father and twisted childhood that can only be temporarily quenched by massive and constant external validation. Picture a black hole accreting mass from a neutron star.

Imagine how unbelievably and bizarrely empty and lacking in self-awareness you’d have to be to muse loudly that you deserve the Nobel prize after someone else was awarded it, expect it to magically happen, and then be genuinely confused when it doesn’t.

Trump is genuinely, obviously insane with malignant narcissism. The fact that such a dangerously inept person was able to become president is profoundly disturbing on multiple levels, and demonstrates the end result of unrestricted American-style capitalism.

Trump is so desperate to get the Peace Prize, just because he's an incessant narcissist. He got his start running for politics because a few jokes from then-President Obama hurt his feelings, and trying to beat Obama at everything he had done really stands over Trump.

That's not quite true, Trump first ran for President in 2000.

I disagree. The attention is put on that to explain extracting material but keeping the regime.

I think everyone is missing that the whole idea behind it is to get a revenue that bypasses Congress' control of the purse.

First thing were tariffs, that go directly to executive branch, now he tries to do the same with Venezuelan oil.

Why does he need it? He is using immigrants as an excuse to turn ICE into the equivalent of military police in Russia a.k.a his own gestapo.

But he needs money to keep ICE and military loyal. This doesn't work if Congress can stop the money flow.

The whole peace prize is Machado thinking that she could convince him to help overthrow the regime. He didn't give damn about people if Venezuela he wants his own dictatorship and for that he needs source of money.

I'm not sure I see how your argument fits together. Nothing you said is wrong, but it doesn't dispute the point I make. It doesn't really even try to, apart from the words "I disagree" at the start.

I meant to say I disagree that trump cares about the Nobel peace prize. I see people commenting that the reason she wasn't selected as president of Venezuela was because she accepted Nobel Peace Prize, which he really wanted to get.

[–] Zagorath@quokk.au 1 points 2 hours ago

I mean it's pretty obvious that Trump does care a great deal about the Peace prize. He was going on and on about it last year, and even convinced FIFA to give him a Temu Peace prize instead.

And Trump's insecurities surrounding Obama have been much documented since the beginning of his 2016 run. Those insecurities provide a pretty significant motivation for his desire to get the Peace prize.

What does a nobel prize have to do with money? I do not follow you

[–] takeda@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 12 hours ago

I'm talking about removing Maduro, because he didn't want to give oil.

I can't tell if she is serious or is just trolling...

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

She MUST be trolling. Nobody can be THAT stupid name simultaneously smart enough to fool the Nobel committee.

[–] AwesomeLowlander@sh.itjust.works 9 points 13 hours ago

Idk, the history of Nobel peace prize winners does not fill me with great confidence in their skills

Give the Orange Turd a Darwin Award.

Put em all on one plane or boat...

[–] redlemace@lemmy.world 11 points 19 hours ago

If she gave him the medal she still would be the rightful winner. Trump however is so vain, he will say "See, look here ... I have it, I'm the peace prize winner. Actually I'm the best prize winner this planet has ever seen. The best the planet will ever see" and even believe so himself.

So if I get Jay Z to let me wear his wedding ring, I'd be married to Beyonce?

Idiocracy was funnier when it was a movie instead of a documentary explaining how we got here.

[–] ech@lemmy.ca 5 points 18 hours ago

I don't see enough people talking about how Machado seems perfectly willing to do so. Wtf is up with that?

Trump is just another seniel old guy
