4) NSFW is okay, within reason
Just remember to tag posts with either a content warning or a [NSFW] tag. Overtly sexual posts are not allowed, please direct them to either !asklemmyafterdark@lemmy.world or !asklemmynsfw@lemmynsfw.com.
NSFW comments should be restricted to posts tagged [NSFW].
5) This is not a support community.
It is not a place for 'how do I?', type questions.
If you have any questions regarding the site itself or would like to report a community, please direct them to Lemmy.world Support or email info@lemmy.world. For other questions check our partnered communities list, or use the search function.
6) No US Politics.
Please don't post about current US Politics. If you need to do this, try !politicaldiscussion@lemmy.world or !askusa@discuss.online

Three times a day (makes the docyor go away)
Not offer, but I'm terible at spelling.
I have an iPhone — does that count? The keyboard is way worse on my 16 Pro Max (2024) than the one on my Galaxy S10 (2019).
I hate iPhone keyboards so much. It's like they actually hate me. It's almost enough to make me use voice to text for everything. But I can't make my brain and mouth work at the same time.
Voice to text is actually pretty good! I use it in short bursts, like if I want to send a text or something, it works very well. For any kind of long form typing though, I don't even think about it.
My boomer mom and all her friends have iPhones. They all typo. They all complain about the keyboard. She's given up now, since she's sundowning hard and life for her is just too short. She vomits some letter chowder and we eventually figure it out.
Wasnt apple supposed to be a pro-people best-UX utopia?
(Also, S10 gang represent)
Extremely common. I got into this unfortunate habit of hitting post and then editing typos afterward, and I think it increased the amount I do it by a lot.
Same here. I mostly type on my phone alot. So autocorrect here is a lifesaver, either that or I will type slower/ with one thumb.
Same, I struggle with posting before reading on the phone especially. My confidence despite only being 10% as accurate on the phone is exactly the same after finishing typing on the phone.
More and more. It actually worries me a bit.
Every single time I type something. That doesn't mean I don't see them before posting.
Quote a few, I catch most.
About twice a comment on my phone and about once every 5 comments on the computer.
Constamply
i try to typo a little bit everyday
I have never nade a type ever
You never 'nade a typewriter?
Only printers
absolutlet nbre in mt lige
How it feels coming into this post with the same joke as everyone else:

I'm nit!
Listen here you little shit...
It's all typos all the way down. I was actually trying to type a totally different comment.
I find myself often going back and ninja editing a post I just made. Even though I read over it before I submitted. Used to not be this bad; my thoughts and grammar, even in a gaming chat, were coherent. Oh well.
FYI: On newer versions of Lemmy's front end, it doesn't show edits made withint 5 minutes anymore, but if you view it from, say, Piefed, it still shows (pretty sure).
I think that may be a shared thing among the different software, Mbin seems to give you a few minutes without labeling it.
With t9? Never. I even typed in full sentences with proper punctuation and grammar!
With a slid-out half-keyboard? Never.
With a full QWERTY (HTC Dream was amazing): Never.
With a giant sweet on-screen keyboard? Every other word. Sometimes like five in a row. Autocorrect catches almost all of them, but it’ll rarely bug out and not work, and I’ll take that as a challenge to finish my paragraph even if copying/restarting the program would fix it… and I do very poorly.
I have nerve damage in my hands so typos are a huge part of typing on a phone for me. I've gotten in the habit of going back and rereading a time or two before hitting post because there will always be a few words that are unrecognizable.
(For instance, before I went back just now, "hitting" was "hjrrjbd")
I swype-type and don't always catch it when different words are used.
Same, and they can be some truly baffling typos.
On a keyboard, almost never. From my phone, nearly every other comment. I have a lot of edits lol.
Apparently every tyime I start typing a response to this question.
All the time. Its really embarrassing tbh. Got worse when I accidentally turned off autocorrect for a month.
Otfen.
Probably quite often on mobile, however I type very quickly and no autocorrect (same as you) so I get quite quick at deleting what I've typed and trying again lol.
Tes.
I'm on a desktop PC. I have LanguageTool installed, and it flags both spelling and grammar mistakes as I type. Also, I write fiction as a hobby and have plenty of practice typing, so I hope that I don't post too many mistakes.
I don't often notice my typos,
But when do, it's after a day and a ton of interaction with said comment.
