I have been watching Jujutsu Kaisen entire weekend. Trying to catch up with everyone on the new season 3.
What have you watched, OP?
Finished up a rewatch of Mr Robot. It is a fantastic story and I do not regret the rewatch.
Since Thursday watched: Rescuers Down Under The Great Mouse Detective Signs Shutter Island
I started rewatching Babylon 5. I don’t think I’ve seen any of it during the current millennium.. still works though.
I manged to find a website streaming the first part of Infinity Castle movie from Demon Slayer, which was great because I've been waiting to watch it for a while. The animation in this movie is absolutely stunning! I spend a good amount of time pausing at certain frames trying to imagine what techniques they used, or how long certain backgrounds or scenes took to render. I was in awe! Demon Slayer has always had stunning visuals, but they truly knocked it out of park here! I don't know how long I'll have to wait for the rest of the finale to be animated, and I don't care, I'll wait ten years if they need it to keep the animation quality consistent throughout!
Well, for a brief moment I had nothing to watch so I thought I would give Tron: Ares a chance, because why not. I tried. I turned it off after about 20 minutes or so it just was off in so many ways. It's so polished and shiny compared to the fuzzy warmth of the original, though I suppose that does track with the overall feel of technology over the years. Moving on, to the more serious problems, the dialog was just so absolutely atrocious it was the main reason I switched it off, bad line after another all delivered terribly, oof. Then there's the music, I'm sorry Trent, I loved Pretty Hate Machine in the 90s and he made a ton of great albums/collabs since but this soundtrack just sounds like a AI mashup of NIN and Stranger Things. Somewhat of a fun phenomenon but I feel all my complaints about technology could also be summed up by this movie, and my disappointment with it mirrors my disappointment with technology.
It just felt like a huge jump in the story line, on top of the script being bad. I felt like there was no connection to the Tron-verse. There wasn't really a follow-up with the son or the program that escaped in the last film. I pirated the movie while it was still in theaters and felt a sour taste in my mouth from the big effects but little storyline
Yes! All flash no substance, technology with no soul or vibe, overengineered slop built on top of a pile of legacy code written by some brilliant people.
Been binging The Good Doctor.
Been watching Animal Kingdom. Started Love and Death last night. It's crazy.
