They dont give a fuck about the average citizen. These are the same people that voted to slash funding Medicaid just a couple months ago. These are the same people that voted against impeaching Trump a couple months before that. These people want Republicans to pass every shithole bill they can because it's better for their bank account in the long run and the typical rube will blame the Republicans for it happening.

Controlled opposition.

To the surprise of absolutely no one.

Incrementalist centrism is woefully inadequate to stop fascism, even if its practitioners were interested at all in doing so.

It is only 0530 and I already had a headache form reading the headlines.

Important to remember that Jeffries has ties to the Kushner family. Also Chuck Schumer is in love with and subservient to his imaginary Republican friends.

If they were compost, at least they would be providing value for the planet.

Just food for thought.

In fact it’s food for microbes.

We need leaders that want to try new things and aren't afraid to fight back. This is not normal and if they are afraid then they need to step aside and let others lead.

Ineffective and out of touch leadership needs to step aside. AOC really ought to primary Schumer in 2028, but Democrats need different congressional leadership way before then. And Jeffries is so robotic to me. He never has the backbone when it's needed, just like Schumer

I recognize that the knee-jerk reaction to end ICE is probably not the best solution.

But, read the room. Your constituents are begging you for strong leadership actions.

[–] PenguinMage@lemmy.world 18 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Why? What has ice done for anyone?

Every country on Earth has a version of "immigration police". The catch is that some governments aren't quite as malicious the current US administration. Some are even more than the US.

Most of them are not designed to emulate the SS.

Man, I mean what will the Baileys say of this?
