Moments after an ICE agent fatally shot a woman in Minneapolis, a man who identified himself as a doctor was barred by officers from checking on the victim.

Video taken by a witness in the aftermath of the shooting on Wednesday, Jan. 7 was obtained by the Huffington Post.

The video picks up after the woman's SUV crashed into a parked car after she was shot by the ICE agent.

"Can I go check a pulse?," a man asks.

An agent tells the man, "No," and to back up.

"I'm a physician," the man replied.

"I don't care," one agent is heard saying, while another says that EMS is on the way and that they had their own medics on scene.

It's an interesting thing because when you deny a doctor access to save someone's life, I think that opens you up to murder charges. I would love to see every officer on scene be charged with murder for those horrible acts that they all did together.

I was about to say this. Surely denying medical attention is illegal?

Surely denying medical attention is illegal?

Not if you're a part of the fascist violence machine it's not

They shot her in the head four times. There wasnt any amount of attention that would have made her survive. Her brain was splattered on the dash like come on what are yall even talking about

[–] Helluh@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago

They are likely no trained to declare deceased status, so even though it may appear obvious, they are supposed to treat her as though alive. Thus declining medical attention could be legal grounds for murder.

I know most police organizations cannot declare it, nor can prison guards. So it would follow that legally ICE probably can't.

Renee Good was without medical care for at least 10 minutes, and eyewitness reports state that ICE vehicles blocked EMS and responders were forced to approach the scene on foot.

Sounds like accessory to murder.

[–] GuyFawkesV@lemmy.world 63 points 3 days ago (3 children)

Sounds like felony murder.

Sounds like ICE officers should get the same treatment as the Norwegian traitors got during and after WWII: Taken into the cold Norwegian forest, only to be filled with lead.

We could skip the "Norwegian forest" part.

[–] SmackemWittadic@lemmy.world 13 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I feel like a better option would be to show them what is felt by the people they do this to.

Have them set free in the Norwegian forest with some form of tracking, and then have them hunted for sport. I want them to feel the fear that every single minority feels when they simply walk up to their car.

“Felony Murder” is a specific kind of legal jargon that refers to being involved in a crime where someone died, right? IIRC?

[–] GuyFawkesV@lemmy.world 14 points 3 days ago

Yep, and spreads culpability to everyone involved in the underlying crime, even if they didn’t pull the trigger.

Works for me

they wanted her die, because if she did survive, thier would be more media attention on this, plus lawsuits, and charges being filed too. and it also gives the right wing MSM some soundbites, that its her fault, if they can obfuscate the investigation, which they did since the FBI is already covering it up.

[–] Mirshe@lemmy.world 11 points 2 days ago

One of the things they teach cops (and some CCW holders): if you're going to shoot someone, kill them. It's easier to put words in a corpse's mouth.

[–] Anivia@feddit.org 8 points 3 days ago

and eyewitness reports state that ICE vehicles blocked EMS and responders were forced to approach the scene on foot

There is a video of that. I don't have the link anymore sadly but I have seen it

“In my work with the defendants (at the Nuremberg Trials 1945-1949) I was searching for the nature of evil and I now think I have come close to defining it. A lack of empathy. It’s the one characteristic that connects all the defendants, a genuine incapacity to feel with their fellow men. Evil, I think, is the absence of empathy.”

  • Captain G. M. Gilbert, the Army psychologist assigned to watching the defendants at the Nuremberg trials

“I don’t care,” one agent is heard saying.

She was shot multiple times point blank in the head.

Those gravy seals knew they killed her and didn't want anyone to bother verifying it.

[–] Drusas@fedia.io 26 points 3 days ago

They didn't want any witnesses to describe what they had seen.

There are people who go to sleep knowing who these ICE agents are. They aren't fully anonymous.

Trumpism/Trump cultists have no humanity in them. They are power hungry ghouls trying to do anything for power and wealth.

[–] Hayduke@lemmy.world 22 points 3 days ago (3 children)

I’m thinking if they were the ones shot in the face, they would prefer the human beings surrounding them to allow any sort of available aid to be administered. Guess we will never know.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 29 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Sound like the time for the Scientific Method. We have a hypothesis:

if they were the ones shot in the face, they would prefer the human beings surrounding them to allow any sort of available aid to be administered

Now we have to design the experiment. I'm thinking that step one would be to shoot one of them in the face, and ask if they want help for that.

Ah, who am I kidding? These Dumb Apes don't know what the Scientific Method is.

[–] leftzero@lemmy.dbzer0.com 11 points 3 days ago

One means nothing. You need a much bigger sample size to reach any significant conclusions.

Also, actually providing any aid would interfere with the experiment, so don't.

[–] Insekticus@aussie.zone 3 points 3 days ago

We can't let the public's education level become an obstacle to our experimentations; we should press on with testing regardless.

never say never

You also need the control of aid not being promptly allowed to verify the results are repeatable.

[–] aesthelete@lemmy.world 8 points 2 days ago

We know you don't care, and that's why I don't care about you. You are an evil bastard.

[–] rayyy@piefed.social 8 points 2 days ago

The objective is to instill fear in the population. Apparently all those militia types that have previously been so visible toting their guns around while dressed in tactical gear are too scared now so it is working.
