An international (English speaking) socialist Lemmy community free of the “ML” influence of instances like lemmy.ml and lemmygrad. This is a place for undogmatic shitposting and memes from a progressive, anti-capitalist and truly anti-imperialist perspective, regardless of specific ideology.

Rules:
Be a decent person.
No racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, zionism/nazism, and so on.

Ooh that’s good. You should post it as a post so more people see it.

Reading right to left is awkward.

Teenage me watching 80's Mtv spotlight the homeless problem, thought it had always been that way and Mtv was taking a stand, raising awareness.

20-years later I learned that Reagan shutdown mental health facilities, had no idea this was largely a manufactured crisis. Once again, short-sighted "fiscal responsibility" ended up costing more than it saved. Reminds me of Florida's quickly aborted drug testing program for welfare recipients. For the few we caught and suspended, we spent far more on the testing itself.

Anyone used to browse /r/abandonedporn? There was a wildly disproportionate number of asylums and like institutions.
