Donut Lab is Finnish, not American, which helps a bit. But the real point is that is doesn't matter now. There are at least a half a dozen Chinese manufacturers working on solid state batteries. Most of them are further ahead too. Big Oil™ won't be able to touch them, since renewable energy is a matter of national security for China (all their oil is imported).
