After faltering in his plan to found a new ‘America Party’, the world’s richest person is returning to the GOP fold

In the aftermath of his spectacular falling out with Donald Trump last year, Elon Musk blasted the Republican Party as a corrupt force that was "bankrupting" the United States of America.

But now, after months in the political wilderness, the volatile tech baron has indicated that he will once again devote his enormous fortune to electing GOP politicians, this time ahead of the midterm elections in 2026.

"America is toast if the radical left wins," declared Musk on X Thursday. "They will open the floodgates to illegal immigration and fraud. Won’t be America anymore."

"They will open the floodgates to illegal immigration and fraud.

Just a reminder that Elon Musk is an illegal immigrant and a fraud.

[–] sausager@lemmy.world 95 points 1 week ago (1 children)

And America without immigrants wouldn't be America anymore, not the other way around.

I disagree, the Americas were ruined by illegal British, French, Portuguese, Dutch, Danish, Norwegian, Russian, Swedish, and Spanish immigrants.

Im indigenous, I agree.

As a German, I like your list.

Just a reminder that trying to buy an election is normally frowned upon in sane countries.

Everyone who's not a Nazi is "the radical left" to a Nazi.

[–] RaoulDuke85@piefed.social 107 points 1 week ago (2 children)

What he means is, he's toast.

[–] velindora@lemmy.cafe 48 points 1 week ago

Right. And his billionaire friends who don’t want to get “canceled” for doing whatever they want

[–] danc4498@lemmy.world 29 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

I don’t even think that’s the case. He needs the GOP to help him own the world. Without it, he will just be an unfathomably rich person.

[–] ClownStatue@piefed.social 29 points 1 week ago

This is it. He knows the Dems might tax him a tiny bit more (an amount he won’t even notice), and he could possibly not win as many no-bid government contracts under them, but he’ll still be incredibly rich and completely above the law. The difference is, with the GOP in charge, he gets to dictate terms.

[–] Mulligrubs@lemmy.world 78 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (8 children)

He can "donate" as much as he likes, with no restrictions.

It's not bribery though! See, he just has to make a Super PAC first; they don't have to disclose their source. So it won't officially be Musk dollars. wink wink

Please note that the one with the most money wins over 90% of the time in our elections.

[–] sausager@lemmy.world 21 points 1 week ago

If you aren't out of America in the next 3ish years, good luck.

You mean HE is toast if the Democrats get the house and senate. America is toast already. You just don't want your enrichment from the corruption to end.

Elon can take his limp non working dick back to South Africa by way of El Salvador.

I’d prefer he be jailed for fraud and corruption and exposed for the sniveling inbred moron he is, first, if it’s alright by you.

LOL, where is this "radical left"?

Are any of these "radical left" in the room with us right now?

I think he's talking more about "any sensible normal American that might regulate my shitty companies".

If the left in the US was only a tenth as "radical" as they claim, people like Musk and his billionaire friends would have to dodge bullets wherever they go.

"illegal immigrants cost us so much money" says the most successful thief and scammer alive today. Can't wait for him and his ilk to learn that money can't buy immortality.

This is what he said about the Wisconsin supreme court race

"I feel like this is one of those things that may not seem that it’s going to affect the entire destiny of humanity, but I think it will,"

Anyone have an update on the destiny of humanity since his favored candidate lost this race almost a full year ago?

People should go all in on boycotting all his companies especially Tesla and Twitter.

Other countries need to cap campaign contributions if they haven't already because Musk has been known to fund the far-right globally.

[–] Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works 23 points 1 week ago

Yeah, the radical right is doing a great job running the country. Housing is affordable, groceries are at an all time low, and unemployment is actually at a net negative. They're just giving jobs away at every corner!

Fuck you, Elon. Eat shit and die. Convince your friend Trump to eat a big bowl as well.

[–] stoy@lemmy.zip 22 points 1 week ago

Dear Mr. Musk, who exactly are the "radical left" that you seem to fear so much?

[–] lemmylump@lemmy.world 21 points 1 week ago

He needs to rot in prison, I think he's scared, and that makes me want to fight him more.

Ignore the Nazi propaganda and destroy these fucking Nazis.
