The Thing, keep Kurt Russel. Intense horror with practical effects... but it's all felt. Open with slightly Norwegian Statler & Waldorf in the helicopter, taking potshots at a dog and digs at each other, and just get weirder from there.

The Ring, keep Samara.

The American version is funnier because you get these dramatic reveals of Muppets with their eyes and noses sewed in the wrong place.

And Muppet Brian Cox in a bathtub, flashing as a black outline with a visible skeleton.

And a bunch of shredded felt behind a boat.
