Attractive or actually want to date? I’m guessing porn stars are all around that age, but I have trouble believing the average 40 year old guy wants to date a 20 year old. Or maybe they only quizzed the older guys who like to hang out in bars?
I’m over 40 and imagine even 10 years younger would be hard to deal with.

I dated a girl much younger than me and it was ass. Literally couldn't talk about anything interesting (to me). Dated a way older girl and it was so chill, also best sex I've had. Though if I were to choose (let's be honest, I don't get much choice) I would pick 1 or 2 years younger than me at most
I've had sex with women half my age, or less, but for a partner I've always loved women my own age, give or take a few years.

That chart isn't of "how low" the men in the study would go, it the age of the women ranked most attractive by the men in the study. Still isn't great, agreed, but it is talking purely about physical attractiveness.
Here is the chart from the same study about what age ranges the men in the study said they would find acceptable to date. By 28 years old, 20 is no longer within the field.

It's rather amazing how fit and sexy older women can be now days. I was dating hot and heavy around 2019-2022 and was stunned at the women I was pulling at 49 to 51 years old. (Kinda cheating as I have factory original hair and teeth, non-fat, non-MAGA, rather rare in this age group.)
Dated one beautiful girl that was a diver and swam in the Gulf most days, yes, even in January. Another was a vegan marathon runner. One would turn heads wherever we went, had the personality to go with the looks, could hike until I dropped dead. Good heavens those women were ripped. I'm daily amazed by my 54-yo wife, but she got Asian genes, hardly moves, cheating!
