In a statement, the group emphasized that ICAP shows to the world respect, love, brotherhood, and loyalty, values that characterize its staff, who proudly and with dignity represent Cuba.
The statement also calls on the United States government to end the blockade imposed for more than 60 years and reiterates its commitment to “continue defending Cuba’s socialist, humanitarian, and ethical Revolution to achieve the well-being and individual and collective prosperity of its people.”
Established by Law 901 of December 30, 1960, ICAP is an independent institution that promotes people’s diplomacy and solidarity through friendship associations worldwide.
Among its functions is fostering actions and contacts with friends of Cuba, with the organization of volunteer work brigades that regularly travel to the island playing a key role.
