The release indicates that, to further develop international cooperation among young people, the Russian president decided to convene the World Youth Festival in September 2026 in the city of Yekaterinburg.

The 2024 World Youth Festival was held in the Russian Federal Territory of Sirius, in the Black Sea resort of Sochi. At that meeting, participants agreed that the next event would be held in 2030.

The Russian presidency release stated that the 2026 Festival will be smaller in scale, with an expected attendance of 10,000 people.

Thematic meetings with 2,000 participants were also announced to be held in 2027, 2028, and 2029 between the two future events.
