Off My Chest
RULES:
I am looking for mods!
1. The "good" part of our community means we are pro-empathy and anti-harassment. However, we don't intend to make this a "safe space" where everyone has to be a saint. Sh*t happens, and life is messy. That's why we get things off our chests.
2. Bigotry is not allowed. That includes racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, and religiophobia. (If you want to vent about religion, that's fine; but religion is not inherently evil.)
3. Frustrated, venting, or angry posts are still welcome.
4. Posts and comments that bait, threaten, or incite harassment are not allowed.
5. If anyone offers mental, medical, or professional advice here, please remember to take it with a grain of salt. Seek out real professionals if needed.
6. Please put NSFW behind NSFW tags.
Everything you ever hear a right-winger accuse the left of, you can bet on the fact that the right's doing it themselves.
Conservativism is, and always has been, externally-validated egocentrism. There aren't any fundamental conservative values. A conservative isn't good because they want good things, or do good things, or say good things. A conservative is good because they are a member of the conservative in-group. Therefore, anything a conservative does, or says, or wants is a good thing because it is a conservative who does, says, or wants it. Anyone who opposes the conservative in-group is, by definition, bad. Therefore anything they do, want, or say is bad. If a conservative says the same thing as a progressive, then it is good when the conservative says it and bad when the progressive says it.
This is the appeal of conservativism.
how does any of that arguement not apply to leftism or any political belief?
that's just how human beings work. we like people who are like us and validate our views. we hate people who aren't like us and challenge of views.
the point of any political belief system is to establish the boundaries of belief that mark the in group from the out group.
You only think that because conservatives believe everyone is like them, in order to make themselves feel better about being narcissistic. Because that isn't at all how it works for anyone who isn't conservative. Progressives and moderates have principles, things they believe even if it doesn't benefit them directly. There are fundamental values built on empathy, like liberty, equality, and justice. For the progressive position, these are not negotiable. Progressives will consider their values to determine where they stand on any particular issue. Conservatives will pick and choose which values to lean on as an argument in order to defend the position they have already chosen.
Conservativism is not a political belief system. There are no universal conservative values. You are deluded if you think that's how everyone else thinks.
Every accusation is a confession.
The "p" in GOP stands for "projection"
E: also pedophelia
they both do it. virtue signalling is a thing that people do regardless of political affiliation or belief.
the right just has different version of what virtues they signal vs the left.

Early teens might be the main factor for kids wanting to draw attention by saying crap.
The right owns the gaslights.
