Edit: I’m an idiot and don’t understand the actual reference of the gay hockey players show.
Is anyone else completely turned off Stranger Things by all the ridiculous ads? They keep trying to sell it with everything from Google's AI slop to fucking washing machine detergent.
Yes daddy Netflix, I would like nothing more than Demogorgon-flavored Tide pods, how very astute of you!
I thought it told everything it wanted to in 2 seasons so I never was interested in the first place. I’m more shocked there’s hype in the first place. Season 4 wasn’t good at all. And I can’t remember anything from season 3.
Guess it's my turn to say that I don't see ads.
Yeah for real. The marketing didn't really detract from my opinion of it, the writing did tbh. Glad they spoiler
had Will come out tho!
You'll have to put that spoiler in a new paragraph. Unfortunately spoiler tags are not a standard Markdown feature. There are no inline spoilers in the Lemmy UI (which is a stupid ass decision, what the fuck devs), and no spoilers whatsoever on Mastodon.
This works:

This does not:

I got bored of it in like season 3, but I've also just heard not great things about the writing now so I have no interest in it regardless of ads.
it's a great show, btw. Heated Rivalry
Is it just me that thought Scott and Kip's story was more compelling and wanted more of them. Not that Ilya and Shane story was bad, just it felt cliché
You could read the books? The Scott & Kip one is called Game Changer by Rachel Reid, and is the first in the series of 6.
Thank you for the tip! Just rented the audiobook. Can I ask tho... Do you know gay fiction thats not written by a woman? Outside of Adam Silva, I've read all his books
Queerceañera by Alex Crespo was a cute romcom.
The Sunbearer Trials by Aidan Thomas had a similar appeal for me as the Last Airbender. It's much more adventure than romance.
I liked Waiting for the Flood by Alexis Hall, but I wasn't into the sequel and haven't tried anything else from him yet.
Most Ardently by Gabe Cole Novoa is Pride and Prejudice with boys, though the author is non-binary in this case.
Even though the authors are women, I have to recommend Notorious Sorcerer by Davinia Evans and Self-Made Boys by Anna-Marie McLemore.
It's been all over my social media and like, I don't mind, but I think this is becoming unhealthy for me.
