Ah, those are cases where the thirst reflex isn't reliable, like in the case of older adults, certain conditions like dementia where people literally forget to drink or eat, in infants, during sickness, and athletes.

Yeah the weird people that are outright forcing themselves to drink a specific excess volume of water per day are pretty wild to me.
