I should watch this again. It’s been a bit.

Gary Oldman. Man, that guy has range.

He’s still vibing as Chris Tucker. It’s fantastic Chris Tucker, but it’s still Chris Tucker.

With commissioner Gordon I was initially squinting at him asking if it was Oldman. In old horses I almost want to cover my nose, the man is acting a smell so well.

I don’t follow much celebrity news, but even if he was “singing for my supper” it’s still good. I knew about his early raging alcoholism, divorce, and serial infidelities, because I went digging for it, but not any of this.

Can't wait to see the part where Pete Hegseth is crawling around in the heat of battle and you ask him to pass a gun but he can't understand and instead smiles like an idiot as he throws you a couple of billiard balls.

while drunk of course.

[–] atomicbocks@sh.itjust.works 21 points 1 month ago (1 children)

The idea wasn’t without precedent even at the time the movie came out.

I remember watching that coffee pot for about 10 minutes before I got bored.

The movie 'Her' came out in 2013.

A quick search says that over half the population has had some kind of 'intimate' conversation with an AI in 2025.

[–] TrickDacy@lemmy.world 71 points 1 month ago (5 children)

Over half the population? Doesn't honestly sound right at all. If you had said 30% I would've still had my doubts. In any case this clearly isn't a worldwide thing because huge swaths of developing countries would not even have access to an LLM.

Maybe they're counting all the times people told Alexa/Siri, etc to go fuck themselves?

[–] SanctimoniousApe@lemmings.world 12 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

I tell Google's this hourly.

[–] TrickDacy@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago

Lol if that's the case then I'm intimate as a motherfucker with LLMs

[–] SatyrSack@quokk.au 12 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Maybe half of AI users had an intimate conversation?

[–] TrickDacy@lemmy.world 12 points 1 month ago

That is more believable for sure. Not 100% that I buy it but yeah, plausible at least.

[–] then_three_more@lemmy.world 11 points 1 month ago

Makes you wonder if they got that figure from a charbot.

[–] ozymandias@sh.itjust.works 8 points 1 month ago (1 children)

well half of the strangers online are LLMs…

[–] TrickDacy@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Certainly not true and not relevant regardless

I don't know what you think pasting that link does. I'm familiar with the concept and it doesn't even slightly prove what you said. It's barely even related to what you said.

Great point 👍

I'm extremely skeptical of AI claims considering it's all a ploy for AI companies to secure more funding

[–] atopi@piefed.blahaj.zone 2 points 1 month ago

according to 2 of the first results on duckduckgo, 68% of the world uses the internet

half of the population would be 74% of the internet users.

other than a website saying that 97% of internet users use AI daily(generative AI, not using the broad definition), i could not find any number that would come close to the required 74% that, assuming 100% of generative AI users are using it for that kind of conversations, would make that statistic accurate

Never realized that Bruce Willis had a pretty neat mullet hairdo in this movie!

[–] aeronmelon@lemmy.world 24 points 1 month ago (2 children)

It’s like a tired, can’t be arsed anymore mohawk.

[–] fakeman_pretendname@feddit.uk 10 points 1 month ago

A "meh-hawk"?

[–] cosmicrookie@lemmy.world 9 points 1 month ago

At the time he must have been in his early 40's

so this sounds about right!

[–] 0ops@piefed.zip 2 points 1 month ago

It's basically a eurohawk

[–] suff@piefed.social 12 points 1 month ago
