The International Meeting of Communist and Workers' Parties (IMCWP) is an annual conference attended by communist and workers' parties from several countries. It originated in 1998 when the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) invited communist and workers' parties to participate in an annual conference where parties could gather to share their experiences and issue a joint declaration. The most recent and 23rd meeting of the IMCWP is being held in October 2023 in Izmir and hosted by the Communist Party of Turkey (modern).

Organization

The Working Group (WG) of International Meeting of Communist and Workers' Parties (IMCWP) is composed of Communist Parties throughout the world. The task of the working group is to prepare and organize the International Meetings of Communist and Workers' Parties (IMCWPs).

The meetings are held annually, with participants from all around the globe. Additionally, there are occasionally extraordinary meetings such as the meeting in Damascus in September 2009 on "Solidarity with the heroic struggle of the Palestinian people and the other people in Middle East". In December 2009, the communist and workers' parties agreed to the creation of the International Communist Review, which is published annually in English and Spanish and has a website.

The 23rd International Meeting of Communist and Workers Parties

The 23rd International Meeting of Communist and Workers Parties (IMCWP) begins today in Izmir, Turkey, hosted by the country's Communist Party (TKP).

The Meeting is held between 20-22 October, under the following subject: "The political and ideological battles to confront capitalists and imperialism. The tasks of communists to inform and mobilize the working class, youth, women, and intellectuals in the struggle against exploitation, oppression, imperialist lies and historical revisionism; for the social and democratic rights of workers and peoples; against militarism and war, for peace and socialism."

Do you ever have a song you really like, and then you listen to the album, and then you immediately realize why you've never heard any other songs from the album?

Americans, I'm sorry to have to be the one to tell you this and I know this will hurt your feelings. But the Mothman is a fucking stupid legend, it's literally just a dumber version of the black dog omen of British folklore.

"Anti-communists often say that under a socialist system society would collapse due to the inherent laziness of humans. But is this true? Do the majority of humans truly enjoy complete idleness? What other reason would we automate? Such characters should perform an introspection on their ideological standings. For all the arguments they can conjure it becomes increasingly plain that they are vainly grasping at straws to justify a failed system they must convince themselves to believe in."----- Junko Enoshima

Numberblocks is so cool. My little human isn't quite 2 yet and can count to 10. My "smarter than some people I work with" joke is rapidly becoming true.

One of my favorite subgenres of dumbassposting is when someone operates with some really personal (mis)interpretation of what a word means and then just argues with 50 people trying to point out their flawed understanding of the words meaning has led to a goofy take

Just saw someone arguing that movies can’t be political bc theyre “personal” stories. Someone was like your politics influence works even if they’re personal stories and he was just like “they’re not political they’re personal” lmaooo

That specific kind of media illiteracy if agonizingly common. Trying to get people to accept that characters aren't real and reflect the beliefs and politics of their writers is very frustrating.

According to DF the rayrracing tricks used in Spiderman 2 are really impressive. Especially the part where they get 3D interiors in buildings. It's funny how it's not noticeable at all. Great game, definitely fewer jaggies and there's stuff utilizing the SSD. But some of the most impressive stuff game devs can pull off now give such marginal returns.

Lol wonder how many game devs just wish it were the 90s and they were like trying to cleverly cram assets on an N64 cartridge instead.

Reading Lord of the Rings for the first time and my main takeaways are that Tolkien really wanted to write a musical and hobbits really like calling things queer

I was just randomly thinking about Libertarians and free speech. See, free speech is important, we can't just punish people for their ~opinions~. But we also can't get mad at companies for firing people for their opinions, since it's their right as a private company to do that. So the true Libertarian solution is to have all companies be state run, since the state is the only one that has to abide by free speech laws!

In the late 1980s, as a 24-year-old university graduate, he put down a $15,000 deposit on a three-bedroom, "fairly rough" flat beside a highway in Cheltenham.

The value of the $51,000 property rose by the price of the deposit in the space of 12 months, he said, and the capital gains allowed him to buy a house in Brunswick.

His portfolio grew to include three homes in Mt Gambier, one in Tasmania, one in Albury and three in Traralgon, where he would usually buy cheaper properties and use the income to offset the mortgage.

He acknowledges landlords "get a bad wrap" and that this kind of wealth-creating opportunity no longer exists for people like his daughter, 25, who has a large HECs debt and pays more rent than he used to.

My husband brought my board game idea to a friend of his who is obsessed with board games, and apparently I've made a slightly less engaging version of the Battlestar Galactica boardgame.

It’s really hard to message the person I’ve started dating cos I just feel like they’ll think I’m annoying or clingy. I just wanna see them again 🥵

[–] MF_COOM@hexbear.net 10 points 2 years ago

Nah just message them. People think it's sexy when you're excited by them

[–] Commiejones@hexbear.net 10 points 2 years ago

That sounds like a good line.

Not really a regular listener of the show but the most recent Trillbillies episode is great, put into words a lot of the things I've felt lately and made me feel slightly less insane

Reposted a call by my local fnb chapter for a vigil for Palestine on my local city sub. It’s not much but it’s the only pro Palestine demo organized so far. Predictably, the thread is full of chuds saying everyone going is a terrorist sympathizer, you should only have a vigil for both sides etc. Such is life in the American south.

Yes work, I'll go 10 hours without food while making food the entire time cause it's too busy for a cook to eat, no please, schedule 2 line cooks and one space case barely out of high school kid that leaves the line in the middle of making a meal to go sit on a milk crate.
